  1. Is it possible it’s an overcrowding issue? I know nothing about chickens but I’m thinking they might believe they are controlling the population in their area. Can’t have others compete for food if they don’t even hatch.

  2. When our hens started eating their eggs they wouldn’t stop until we put more for them to do in the coop, so we put a ton of bedding in the bottom and threw some dried meal worms in there and keeps them occupied instead of eating the eggs

  3. Okay the one trick that I've ever had to get my chickens to stop eating eggs is mixing cayenne pepper into some broken eggs and letting them eat that, you need to do it a couple times to get them to associate the Cayenne with the egg but we had some stubborn chickens that we thought wouldn't stop and they finally did

  4. You NEED to try calcium powder my grandma has had chickens for 70 years and that's what she would do when they would start eating eggs increase their calcium intake.

  5. Collect the eggs 2x's a day and that will not be an issue unless your eggs are soft and break when they hop in the nesting box to lay make sure they have calcium and food all the time. You should not hold them upside down they could aspire and choke.

  6. Honestly I think you need to collect them quicker, like almost immediately after they lay. I had the same issue years back and the only real solution that actually worked was gathering eggs right after they layed.
