Umm.. but he only made those trap because he wanted to protect his house.. those robbers don't deserve those treatment but they were the ones persistently breaking and entering the house.. I mean.. it's clearly meant to be comedic silly movie.. If I found myself being subjected inside house full of trap I would yoinks the fork out of there, but somehow those robbers just continued to chase after him.. it's not like Kevin was the one forcing them inside the house against their will, they forced their way inside his house. That theory is bit reaching in my opinion… also regarding his "hallucination"… have you ever heard child with wild imagination? It's not hallucination if everyone else can see the boiler.. Kevin just perceived it in different way.
