#twinkle #oncidium #mount
The remnants of my Oncidium Red Fantasy have just leafed out with new growths, and this orchid has been in rescue mode since January 2021. My Oncidium Twinkle was doing really well in leca and self watering, until I had a major scale infestation which then induced rot, and bit by bit the large orchid is now just 2 pieces with a new growth on each of the pieces. In order to save my Oncidium Twinkle, I am opting to mount it in the hopes that it will grow roots and start the road to recovery 🤞🏼 In this video I am demonstrating how to mount an oncidium orchid. #orchideen #orquideas #orchidcare #orchids #oncidium

For me, Twinkles do considerably better on a mount than on a pot. I would have put a bit of hob over the roots as well, just because they were used to being in a pot. Easy enough to add if you choose to. I hope she takes to mounted life. If she throws out a new root system, I'm betting she will still try blooming and you're going to have to be the meany and cut the spikes.
Good luck little one.
Oncidium twinkle should do better in its natural habitat Nina. Use of sewing thread( medium size) will help to give a softer touch while securing the orchids on to the mount. By the time new roots develop and the plant clings to the mount ,the sewing thread will automatically break off..Se imparable en este hermosa dia con tus orquideas.
Beautiful work!
She looks good! Good job!
Fingers crossed she will survive, my twinkle is in a small pot and at the moment has 8 spikes, we are lucky we live in an orchid growing environment with no need for any supplimentary things. good job on the mounting, will look forward to seeing how she does. good luck
🦒💐🌷They already look so much better but most importantly they will do well on that mount, for sure. Mine are doing a lot better and growing nicely since I mounted them. One took longer than the other but she finally is doing her thing. Have a wonderful day, everything going your way💖😍😍😘😘
Hi! Finally stopping by on your channel again😊. Most of my orchids were lost to thrips in the winter so I wasn’t very interested in anything orchids but now your videos give me some new motivation, especially because you never sugarcoat anything and show the fails too. Thanks 😊

You have a good size left of the Oncidium😉🤲💞I'm sure that it'll bounce back and grow beautifully🥰
You are so neat and tidy with your things that looks great. Hope she will be happy for you.
Super
Thank you for sharing, hope she does well. Have a great and save day.
My twinkle is actually potted, and yes it's still blooming!! It hasn't stopped since it started back in December. 😅 Hope yours does as good as mine has. 🤞🏻 Hot here again today in the mid 90s. 🥵 Thankfully my air is working great. 🥳
🦋
That was a very nice mount job Nina. I’ll bet Twinkle is going to be very happy 😆. I watched you make the slip knot but I’ll have to practice 😂. Not very good at it for sure. 👏🥰🤗❤️
Oh your poor twinkle 🙁 I hope she pulls through because they are just so cute! I got one young seedling myself recently, but turns out she lost all her roots in bad media and fel into three peaces when I unpotted her… not sure if this is a lost cause. She came from the seller like that, a real shame, and the risks of buying in a non-clear pot. I remembered you said somewhere to not put oncidium in icu setups, so she is now in a small bark filled netpot, but I don’t have high hopes for such a young one.
Here is to hoping yours fares well! She looks good on that mount!
I did hear twinkles love mounts but also that they love to make A LOT of roots. I have an unknown oncidium on a mount but it is insanely difficult to not let that one dry out. Maybe I should try a hybrid pot/mount setup or something… well anywho, fingers crossed for your twinkle! 🍀🍀 hope you have a great day!
