  1. hi there

I must say, I'd be interested to see what Hyce's opinion on this would be. I do recall one source noting the drivers on the chasing engine being "larger" than that of the locomotive Edwards was driving. It would be a fun deep dive into research to see just how real this story could be.

  2. One of my favorite theories about ghosts is that they are spiritual scars, an echo of something that happened in the past. Not really the spirits of the deceased, and can't really harm you, but you may feel the weight and horror of the unresolved or covered-up tragedy that left that scar on the spiritual realm in that place. Considering how many railroad disasters are covered up, unreported, or forgotten, it wouldn't surprise me if these ghost stories are echoes of such incidents making themselves known.

  3. Could you try doing the Pope Lick Trestle Goatman? The trestleโ€™s not only popular due to the goatman himself but due to the number of people whoโ€™ve tried to find the entity only realise too late that a train was bearing down on them

  4. At least it wasn't Kenosha Pass…

Interesting note, this route was ripped up in the 1950's, but the old railbed still remains, and exists as a gravel road in some places. It can easily be seen from US 50 in some areas.

  5. Quite the story, this one is. The amount of detail from the this written account is what intrigues me the most this. And who says wintertime can't also become a spooky season? That alleged message written in the frost of the cab window does seem like and awful lot to write on a cab window but if that was how it was actually spelled, then I'm not going to object too much.
