  2. How do we know current mmo player base is very disoriented, unskilled and distasteful… Neverwinter Online is below this list. Now there might be a few actual explanations as to why is that, to which I will not go into any sort of detail. There also probably is something I completely do not understand about 7 or 8 of the games <on the list> that makes me personally unable to understand how and why they are there but Neverwinter is not. And last but not least it`s probably John Strive`s fault. Let`s just blame all the Neverwinter`s lack of success on him and be done with it.
P.S. I strongly gravitates towards the current 6th on the list ~former 4… F you 2nd WoW on the List… F you very accessible nostalgia bomb that I have never player Runescape :P. Not that it actually matters. Like I had a lot of very unreasonable believes in my life while growing up, which are now very biting me on the rear. To explain I am gonna have to say I practically believed people will actually ditch WoW over time for better games and new players will stop having interest to such an old game… Kind of like expecting people to suddenly stop living and wanting to live in America and dispersing over other parts of the world… o_0. Well whatever, let`s just focus on what is good… that 6th place entry existing.

  3. Eve Online:
I played this game from 2013 to 2022 as an 8 account player.

The decline of its player base is not just due to the sub cost, it is only one factor.
The game in my early days and probably for the first 5 years were extremely fun, I have not sunk more hours in to a game than I have EvE Online. As I grew wiser in the game so to did my hatred for it and here is why:

It is now pay to win – We now have 10 minute old characters who can pilot the best ships in game, these ships would take players months and months to learn the skills to pilot, not anymore. The introduction of skill injectors by the Devs (CCP) saw the demise of many veterans as a result of this cash grab.

Alliance are ALL corrupt – Whilst the average Joe player pays hard earned $$ to pay for his/her sub each month, I can assure you that the Alliance Leadership and even some Corporation leadership do not pay for their subs with their own $$. In EvE, players in a corporation pay Tax for each NPC kill and many actions they perform, for example when they reprocess ore in an alliance/corp held refinery. ISK is the in game currency, Plex can be purchased in game with ISK to purchase a 30 day sub. The tax you pay these players is exactly how they play for free. Whilst the average Joe has to spend countless hours grinding for ISK to pay for a 30 day sub, the taxes the average Joe pays whilst carrying out those countless hours grinding is lining the leadership pockets so they don't have to grind like you. Essentially it is a thanks for your hard work and paying for me to play for free. I learned this later in my EvE play time.

Null Sec is ruined – Alliances have essentially ruined Null Sec, and Null Sec for most is where the game is at, you can PvP to your hearts content with no repercussions from Concord (In Game NPC Police), and it is where most of your ISK can be earned (Wormholes aside, which really is no better than Null Sec as far as alliances go now anyway). Alliances have formed coalitions, and unless you are in the click, you are screwed, you will be what they call a line member, pay your taxes so they can play for free. Wormholes as I mentioned is the same, except nobody actually own the territory, but the majors will come through and blow your things up and evict you from the wormhole, unless you are in their click or pay them.
If you are not a member paying for their free sub time, or in their click, you can of course "Rent" a system or a few of their space, yes that's right "RENT". Of course renting incurs some pretty large ISK fees, and how do you think, once again the leadership pay for all their monthly subs? See where this is all going.

I sound like a bitter ex player, and in a sense I probably am, however I do have to say the game in its core is absolutely mind blowing, fantastic and one can burn so many hours playing it, I know I did, the concept is brilliant, the graphics are really cool and the PvP is fun, I have never played a game where my heart actually starts racing during combat, I guess knowing that if your ship blows up, it is gone, you have to go buy a new one, or build it from scratch.

The whole pay to win, cash grab from CCP and the way alliances are have ruined the game for me, I should also mention that having 8 accounts at $19 was not so bad, but now the sub if you are not grinding for in game ISK for plex is now $27.50/month (AUD), yeah a tad steep for an 8 account player, I would hate to be one of those vets who has/had 25-30 accounts paying that, unless of course they were alliance leadership, then hey I would have 50 accounts lol.

  4. I keep meaning to try GW2 but haven't gotten around to it yet. And I keep meaning to get back to WoW – still haven't played Dragonflight but again, haven't gotten around to it. Mostly because I've been lost in XIV although with a big gap in between our next content drop and Dawntrail it might be the perfect point to carve out some time for some of the other MMO's on the list. Thanks for the video!

  5. Nexon, who make Maple Story, have been fined $9m for manipulating the drop/success rate of the loot boxes in the game and also stating a max level upgrade was available as a possible drop but game actually had zero chance of dropping said advertised upgrade.

  6. Lost Ark wouldnt be down there if they released on Asia amazon should just remove NW in Asia and replace it with LostArk

if FF14 update their graphics and their combat isnt slow in early stage or the game i think more people would play, for me FF14 looks pale the area look depressing i guess its super old, idk maybe its just me but i wish they update their game to look modern

  7. Still waiting for the "WoW killer" lol. I started playing during Wrath and quit at the beginning of Shadowlands. Then I started playing ESO but stopped a few months ago to play Starfield, then Phantom Liberty, and now NMS (which I am loving). Been thinking about going back to WoW though.

  8. I play Lost Ark, and even though it may be 'play-to-win' I've never felt that it is like that at all. Its more like he said, "play-for-power' meaning increasing your card bank slots, inventory increases, stuff like that, but not really like play-to-win in terms of running into people who didn't earn their gear and just have powerful gear cause they bought it. Just to be clear. Now the bots are a problem, but they are trying to address it. However, there is a lot of bots. I've tried BDO and I'm having a hard time getting into it only because I'm blasted with so much that I don't even know where to really start and also given a lot of stuff Idk what to do with, so its kind of just sits there.

  9. I don't care one way or the other. I play Star Trek online, and will probably keep playing it until the server shuts down. I Really don't see the appeal in WOW.. but hey, whatever floats your boat…
