  1. Vietnamese people have the right to protect their land. For them it was a quest for freedom. Its sorry to see cold war smashing so many countries like Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan. They had nothing to do with American war. For me it's pure American fault to indulge in someone else's affairs.

  2. Well…the Americans invaded Vietnam. What did they expect, tea and cookies? Of course the VC defended themselves and their home country, with any devices possible.

  3. What about the traps that weren't triggered? After the war people or animals can get injured. Also during the war if anyone is making traps (children , women) then Vietnamese soldiers can also get hurt.
Did they lay traps and retreat?

  4. The North Vietnamese didn't win most of the major battles in Vietnam fighting the US and was pretty much militarily defeated every time in battle. The Viet Cong were effectively destroyed after the Tet Offensive. These are facts.

In 1973, the the US bombed Noth Vietnam to smithereens and destroyed all their supplies to make war against South Vietnam. This forced North Vietnam to the negotiating table where they signed an agreement agreeing not to attack South Vietnam.

Only after they got resupplied by the Soviets after losing everything to the 1973 bombings and US troops were gone did they attack South Vietnam, thereby breaking the treaty they signed. US Congress refused to provide aid to South Vietnam's Army.

The US didn't lose the Vietnam War, they just simply left. The Viet Cong and NVA never beat the US on the battlefield. These are facts. Be honest with, the US really wasn't going all out on Vietnam but those 1973 bombing raids gave the Vietnamese a very small taste of what it would be like if the US did go all out.

Which is why the North Vietnamese came to the negotiating table when they initially refused to do so. That is until they got hit with those bombing raids.

The US didn't start doing that during the war until that point where the US got serious about forcing the Vietnamese to the negotiating table. The Vietnamese never felt and never contended with the full brunt of US military power. Just ask the Japanese.
