I feel like this song encapsulates the fact that there is no "moving on" from bad experiences— only moving forward; and that those things shape you into who you are. You can't erase something bad from the past, so let it become something that shapes your future— for example, an amazing EP of songs like the one Mortius has made here. (NOTE: I'm not sure how well I worded that, so I'd like to clarify that I am in no way saying that the things that happen to you should be taken lightly)
2:12
ok, yep, Mortius's apprecation for hitting some certain notes really well is rubbing off on me
Me Headbanging in celibration at the end 🤘
Mortius vocals never disappoint.
Givin me Greatest Showman and Panic! At the Disco vibes.
Good job!!!!!!
"Mourn the you he took away
Celebrate who's here today"
Right in the feels. Amazing song, thank you!
I honestly thought it was never thought much growing up
Can we please talk about what an INCREDIBLE lyricist Mortius is and the AMAZING wordplay
I want to add to my music tattoo sleeve “Not yet a garden but the seeds are sown, finding new dreams to get lost in”
"im gonna rattle the stars and the world will know me too" i love this so much❤❤
The dissonance on the word Dreamscape has been on repeat in my brain since the first listen. Phenomenal work
Oh, this is really really really good!
Listening to this for the like 5th time and suddenly "it doesn't hurt less but it hurts less often" hit me hard and I started choking up and the rest of the song had me bawling
❤️🔥
Amazing song, beautiful lyrics. This perfectly captures moving on from such a terrible infliction
Mortius, thank you, from the bottom of my heart and the heart of my past self
THIS IS PHENOMENAL OH MY GODDD!!! I love this art style so much!!
Also I'm not the best at picking up musical motifs but I swear there's something going on in the background when you sing "rattle the stars" but I can't place it
I think my favourite part is when the instruments drop off for the last chorus, actually ascending right now fr
Your low notes and that high note on "flee" are GORGEOUS, Mortius. You have quite the range, man. I'm so glad you're sharing your voice with the world!
"Why do we let the past ghosts steal our future too" is an amazing line. I had to pause when I heard it
Many lines of this songs are absolute GOLD, even though i don't necessarily relate. You have great talent and put in great effort and it shows, i hope you keep making music!
didn’t realize on my first listen but while listening on repeat I realize Mortius did his favorite thing at 3:14. He dropped the music and brought out the harmonies.
i love how this song talks about the past and childhood dreams and the lyric video reminds me of those scratch colour boards which was such a prominent part of my childhood so it really tied the whole thing together <3
Im here for it
This is such incredible work, I'm so glad you decided to write this EP! Keep shining🥰🥰
I think this is my favorite song on the EP. It’s the one I connect to the most and is the one most likely to start making me bawl even now after listening to the EP basically on repeat since it was released.
Why do I relate to this song so much
The MASTERY wording of the lyrics
Is just BLOODY BRILLIANT
The way the wordplay conveys the imagery is WOW
I absolutely love EVERYTHING about these videos. Your vocals are amazing, the lyrics are emotional & moving, and the contour line drawing illustrations are incredible. The transitions are expertly crafted. You are transforming a horrific experience into something quite special. BRAVO MORTIUS!!!
