More heavy rain for the eastern North Island next 7 days

Sorry eastern North Island, but plenty more rain is yet to move through over the next week before we finally get a break in this stubborn weather pattern.

Despite a building El Nino the neutral pattern weโ€™re still in means there is no main driver for our lows and highs โ€“ so itโ€™s quite chaotic. The pattern weโ€™re in now looks to remain for the rest of June.

Over the coming week places like East Cape, Gisborne and Hawkeโ€™s Bay may still have another 100 to 200mm of rain in the ranges โ€“ worth monitoring.

We also take a look at upcoming frost and fog highlights.

  3. Keep hearing normal typical average but nothing is normal about the ridiculously high constant monthly rain accumulated totals….certain regions are constantly getting repeatedly deluged
