Sorry eastern North Island, but plenty more rain is yet to move through over the next week before we finally get a break in this stubborn weather pattern.
Despite a building El Nino the neutral pattern weโre still in means there is no main driver for our lows and highs โ so itโs quite chaotic. The pattern weโre in now looks to remain for the rest of June.
Over the coming week places like East Cape, Gisborne and Hawkeโs Bay may still have another 100 to 200mm of rain in the ranges โ worth monitoring.
We also take a look at upcoming frost and fog highlights.

Why is that large High out to the East of NZ not moving?
That's what is locking the rain continually onto the East Coast of the North Island. Can someone explain why that High isn't moving away please?
