A broken mooring line is very dangerous and can instantly knock someone out. This is a hazardous situation that happens so quickly that itโs impossible to avoid. in a tensile strength test using hydraulic machine, mooring rope with a diameter of 4 inch, when pulled and broken, has broken load of 2960 kilonewtons, equivalent to 300 tons. For comparison, a 2.5 inch diameter mooring rope with a breaking load of 85 tons is already sufficient to break this mannequin into pieces.
