The fleet is the longest stretch of shingle beach in the UK. The tide arranges the pebbles by size, largest nearest Portland and smallest further West.
I walked over the large shingle bank, struggling as I was wearing heavy boots and you tend to sink into the tiny pebbles at this stage of the beach. I realise how windy it is as I come over the bank, but a beautiful sky. I set up my camera and recording equipment and decide to give it ago anyway.
On return to the studio, I found the recordings were full of wind. Visuals were looking amazing. I decided to return to re-record the audio when the wind was less. The video features the outcome of the two different trips.
Its winter so the beaches are quiet, there are only a few birds around and a few lone fishermen along the stretch of the beach. They are very quiet and I couldn’t help thinking about the similarities of our endeavours.
