The 2 guys that played the brothers look like a young Christian Bale and James Franco. They did such a good job.
I actually believe Roy Rosello and t that makes me think there is a kernel of truth in their s abuse declarations on their trial. Poor kids, so effed up that they ended up killing their parents. What I cannot wrap my head around is why shot kitty even more than their dad…in the end, whatever the reason, they are still murderers.
I've known about this case as a kid, and I've changed my opinion on it many times. If they are in it for the money psychopaths, why would they tell on themselves? 🤷♂️
Lyle is such an ass in the series and in real life he doesn't seem like it so it is really annoying also his brother said that lyle is misrepresented

These two brothers were obviously abused
Both brothers described their fathers penis in detail
And their family has stood behind them because they explained their abuse and tried to reach out for help
What many people don’t understand is that when children are systematically abused like this, they don’t turn into logical sensible people. So yes, Baba Wawa, you are correct…their behavior was definitely odd and unhealthy. They were messed up people. Of course they were. So many people passing judgement, who have no clue what that kind of abuse does to you.
It’s discouraging that people aren’t able to make any attempt to understand what it might be like to grow up in that kind of horror show.
Had they not been raped and controlled for years, they never would’ve killed anyone.

I grew up in LA when all this went down. Both can be true, they can be greedy teenagers and be afraid for their lives. I believe Lyle and Erik.
I think it’s monsters on all sides. The brothers were monsters bc they brutally murdered their parents. The parents were monsters bc of the ways they abused the brothers. The grandparents were monsters bc of how they abused the parents. It’s a cycle.
It’s controversial bc they’re wealthy and want the money. I would want my parent’s money too! Especially if they abused me! Their parents only cared about status and money and what a great way to take back power.
Unfortunately, many kids are abused every single day and they don’t murder their parents.
They should be released with 10 years probation. They’ve done enough time for the crime and the abuse they suffered. 😢

Regardless of how exactly it went down whether it’s true or not all the details this show was fantastic and I dont say that a lot about new shows today, but this gets 10 stars in my book and the best part of it was all the details of how everything was in the 90s from all the other events happening during that time. And then the cars like so spot on! An excellent drama with unfortunately a sad real ending.👍👍
This is a nice overview of the Netflix show but your title is misleading. You’re not comparing it to real life, you’re just summarizing what happened on the Netflix show.
Free the brothers
I wish they got let out they i already spent there life in prison and yeah I get it they killed their parents, but obviously there are some trauma there and there’s a lot of things that nobody knows about only those boys know about it and I’m not justifying their actions, but they’ve already spent a good chunk of their lives in jail. Their life basically got away from them. They should just cut some slack.
I think it was said the mother was shot 9 times and the father was shot 5 times. And their alibi was being at the movies watching the new Batman movie. but I haven't read nor thought about the brothers, only God knows how, many years.
