Kingdom at the time of making the anime WASNT YET AS POPULAR/IT WA SBURIED UNDER THE RADAR.Anime was made with some to me UNKNOWN studio with DEFFINETLY ETXREMELY SMALL BUDGET.
I dont like when people use MOST RECENT SHOWS with alredy way metter advanced/updated toolkits alongside having way bugger budgets and then compare with old shows that didnt have muhc budgets.
KINGDOM NEEDED CGI!!!!!!! IST DUE TO SCALE AND NUMBER OF SOLDIERS ON SCREEN. IF THEY WENT WITH HADNDRAWNING then it would not only take them ovfer 2-3 months just to make 1-3-4 episodes BUT it wold be EXTREMELY COSTLY soly DUE TO EIG WEEKLY SCEDULE SHOW.
HENCE TEH CGI WAS USED MORE FREQUENTLY its to CUT THE COSTS of alredy limited budget bcs at the time of making Kingdom anime Kingdom manga was BARELY known and was still under the radar even in the East and in west was non existant.For 2n seasson Kingdom manga gained some traction and some decent following wich helped make season 2 have LESS CGI and only aply CGI when there are big battles WICH SHOULD AND MUST SATY CGI cbs of the scale and costs.
