  1. I really wish for a better presentation version of siralim. Dosent really need to move away from 8bits graphics but it could have animations and better VFX. On Digimon side, hope they keep evolving the Cyber Sleuth and digimon world/next world formulas.

  2. Big thanks for letting us know about the Digimon Questionnaire. Just filled it in.
I really want more games like the Cyber Sleuth games.
I love the concept of the World games. But never completed one due to getting frustrated with the timed deaths that basically reset progress.
They're just a massive time sink where everything has to be perfect otherwise you waste even more time. A slow slog to gain stats in the right area so that MAYBE you can progress.
But the Cyber Sleuth games where fantastic, best games the IP has to offer imo.

Its pretty obvious the company has no idea what to do with the IP though. They're just spitballing hoping something sticks.
Hopefully this gives them some indication of where to go next.

  3. When I look at the Digimon survey having specific game types they consider I get excited. When I remember then that they already did a Digimon fighting game (Digimon All Time Rumble) and already did a Tactics game (Digimon Survive), both games I didn't like, I'm not sure how to feel. For me it's not so much the genre that matters, it's moreso characters, narrative and world building of the game and the gameplay that follows.

  4. Pokemon has the pokemon company but digimon doesn't seem to have like the digimon company. Couldn't we gather interest and pool into creating the digimon co. To invest and protect future digi interests???

  5. Digimon survey done. I was a bit surprised at some of the types of games they had to choose from, like shooter games lol, but shockingly, no turn-based RPG (besides maybe the MMORPG option). Also, a couple of my favorite Digimon from Cyber Sleuth/Hacker’s Memory weren’t even available to select from the dropdown for that question. How could they leave off Hisyaryumon and Ouryumon like that?

  6. New from the Siralim dev…and it's an action/siralim mix, from the sounds of it? Sign me up twice over please and thank. Not to mention Palworld coming. Gonna be quite the start to the year.

  7. On a side note; Bandai in general seems to have started taking Digimon more seriously than usual.

Survive did pretty well considering it's a visual novel; and the old Cyber Sluth/Hacker's memory are still played and selling even now. The Digimon TCg is doing far better than expected, and is currently the 5th biggest TCG; narrowly behind the brand that is One Piece; and then the established Big Three. Digimon is outperforming Bandai's own Dragon Ball card game… and Dragon Ball is a way bigger name than Digimon is.

They've been doing various media recently; like Seekers; which is ending, for Liberators. A webcomic that will focus on adding a lot of new digimon and will be directly fed into the card game [As in the new characters and such]. It's far from unhead of for webcomics to become anime; look at One Punch Man and Tower of God/God of Highschool.

Speaking of the card game, Bandai just made a banlist which will absolutely hurt short-term sales, but was also absolutely the right thing to do for the long-term of the game. They limited a card from the most recent set [not even out in the west yet] to 1. The big chase card of the set. They even made a statement and admitted their whoopsie with the card. It absolutely will hurt sales of that set but the damage to the game if Bandai just did nothing, and then banned it after everyone whaled out for it would be worse. Bandai showed they aren't just milking it for a get-rich quick but are dedicated to the long haul

And then you have this survey. And we already know there is a new Digimon Story game in the works.

Digimon is making an unusually large multimedia push right now; and Bandai is putting more effort into the franchise than they have for quite a long time I feel. I think Bandai has actually woken up and noticed the general dissatisfaction with and stagnation of the Pokemon franchise. And if people are sick of Pokemon being stagnant… well the Digimon franchise is known for being anything but stagnant. They hardly can go two games without trying an entirely different genre.

  8. A digimon souls-like sounds like an amazing concept, can't help but imagine exploring a ruined digital world full of crumbling civilizations and abandoned structures once grand and mystical

If they go the elden ring route in making the digital world more brutal, imagine how creepy they can make some digimon look

  9. No one I know but me actually supports Digimon by putting their money where their mouth is. Just constantly begging for games and not even buying the games they release because they aren't want they were looking for.

In my honest opinion, the only DIgimon games I have ever really liked are the Digimon World 1/Redigitize/Next Order because they feel like vpets.

Digimon is strongest as a vpet and if they were to get "serious" about the games, I really hope they world learn to lean more into the vpet aspect.

  10. FINALLY some Digimon stuff, like actual good stuff. Right now I'm playing Cyber Sleuth/Hackers Memory, and while they are fun, it's also a slog to play them. You can tell that other franchises have a much bigger, major budgets compared to Digimon games because most Digimon games just suck imo. I haven't found anything yet that has won me really over except for the old Playstation games.

  11. I hope we get a new Cyber Sleuth game. And I hope they add Gammamon into it. Ever since I saw it in Ghost Game, I wished I could get one in the games. I just love Gammamon!

  12. Another thing that Digimon can totally do and do well is actually a Battle Royal.

Now, wait, hear me out. You start as a Rookie Digimon in a large open map with other player's, your goal is to eat food, kill other digimon, or accomplish certain goals in order to gain Data to evolve and learn new abilities. I mean, C"MON!? Like, the digital world is literally already like this lol This is exactly how it works. The digital world when we don't see it is a giant Hunger Game's simulation with millions of participants all trying to survive in world where you can get EATEN AND IT MAKES THE OTHER GUY MORE POWERFUL! A battle royal would be so good.

But, i'd be down if they simply brought back more of what makes Digimon, Digimon. I want to take care of and actually RAISE my digimon, I want to grow with them, develop bonds with them(Digimon can fking talk can we lean into that more?) and eventually, when the time come's, I want to cry because my Digimon died of old age, happy. I miss that gameplay.

Hell a rougelike with this in mind would be fking awesome too, please just explore the design space the property already has just by being itself lol
