  1. Weird amount of anger/dislike on this one, try and remember that us here at the channel aren't in charge of optimisation okay!

This is simply a discussion on what's good, what's bad and what's most importantly reality from a LOT of different sources, including literally you guys in a poll and as we've said people have had issues when they shouldn't and this is why the post beta poll is so important to do!

  2. I had issues with finer textures on my hunter, my hair and tattoos and skin looked so pixelated and it killed any desire I had to actually play the beta on pc. At least I had a ps5 to try it out, but the pc one just bothered me. I admit my cpu needs to be replaced, tho that also means replacing my mobo as well so I was hoping I didn't need to so this'll be a hard choice bc I already bought the game on pc.

  3. The only real issue on pc for me was frame time. I had a nice 80 fps before the rig got to warm, no polygons. DD2 had similar frame time issues but it paned out, for what was still a let down game.
MHWilds will be the opposite of DD2, however I can only hope the difficulty will be brought up by launch.

  4. My Laptop, with a 11th gen i5-11400H and 3060 Laptop Gpu, ran the game on basic "low" settings fluidly. However the CPU was constantly over 90°C and the GPU over 80°C, so I haven't played that much, around 3 hours over the weekend to not cook my device too much.

  5. I think people are angry because you are kinda having the "dont ask questions, just consume product" mentality. Performance here is inexcusable. Using fram gen as a crutch to achieve 60fps on very capable hardware is extremely problematic and it will continue if we dont voice out concerns.

  6. I played the beta on a 360hz qd-oled (no fps limitation there).
    1440p
    With 7900xtx OC
    7800X3D
    32 GB DDR5 RAM
on ultra settings and had about 70-80fps, but even with v-sync (ingame) it ran just "ok".
I had to enable FSR to have a fluent game with ugly effects that come with it.

PS: My complete build is is basically brand new parts with the latest drivers for EVERY part in my pc incl. motherboard bios.

    My verdict:
This game is an absolutr mess when it comes to optimisation.
And after checking my CPU, it didn't really bottom out close to 100 % on any core.
And the vram usage was maybe 14gb at max (my card has 24gb… sooo)

I feel bad for everyone who has a weaker rig, not because I feel special (Mind you, I don't own a 4090).

I feel sorry for other people, because they can't enjoy the game, becaude even I couldn't WITHOUT FSR and with FSR it was a fluent mess that made ultra settings useless anyway.

  7. I did find a fix for the water issue when I played I forgot the setting but it was the last option, it had the options to turn it off, balanced or performance mode, turning it off entirely fixed the water, I think it was something about uneven pixel rendering or something.

  8. Telling people to update their graphics driver for the beta is complete nonsense, there wasn't a single graphics driver even released for the beta, so updating the driver wouldn't make any difference at all. All this show is a lack of understanding of how graphics drivers actually work.

The comment from Rurikan about the 3060 being 4+ years old so what do you expect is also total rubbish, the 3060 is slightly more powerful than the GPU in the PS5 and the beta was fine on that.

I like this channel, Rage, Hollow and Cotton, I really don't mean to come across as rude and if I do I apologize as I'm not sure how else to word this, but this video really screams of people who know very little about how computer hardware, software, etc works telling people how to do things.

The vast majority of issues people are having frame rate wise aren't even GPU related anyway, while the game is quite GPU heavy, the game is actually massively CPU bound. I know this because on my PC (Intel i5 – 12600, 80GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 4070 Super, 4TB NVME PCIE Gen 4 SSD) ran the game at 60FPS at max settings without frame generation or any form of upscaling enabled at 1080P, yet with the only setting change being increasing the resolution to native 1440P, it didn't change the FPS at all, is was completely the same.

The game is simply massively CPU bound, just like Dragon's Dogma 2 is which uses the same engine, with losts of NPC's and massive maps just like Wilds does.

  9. Honestly, it feels like some of the Monster Hunter content creators are downplaying this issue. If my setup—a 3080, 32GB RAM, and Ryzen 5800x—can’t run this game at 1440p above 60fps on medium settings, I might as well sell my PC and pick up a controller, there is no point of PC gaming I guess. I didn’t spend $3500 (post-COVID prices) on this rig to play MH on low settings at 60fps. If the performance issues are as bad as I think, I’m skeptical about Capcom's claims that the current build is stable or that they can fix it in the next four months. But I really hope I’m wrong about this.

  10. Pressing X to Doubt on the 144 frames or above. In the hub the 14900K can't keep above 70fps.
Even for the highest end rigs, there are issues, nor should they have to be using Balanced upscaling to keep high framerates.
Very much hoping these issues are solved so only a minority do these issues become non-ignorable.

  11. 26.23% with no issues should not be the norm and it should be fixed before the actual launch.
And Ruhrikhan just consistently rubs me the wrong way. Much prefer the way you present your arguments.
    Thank you

  12. low poly hunting is just a challenge mode
how well do you really know these monsters and their movements
i didn't experience any low poly moments in my time playing the beta but I'm well aware of the memes and all of that
i do think it would be hilarious if capcom made an event quest later on that turned the monster's in said event quest low poly
i think it would genuinly pose a challenge to fight monsters that are lower poly because that lack of detail means you are missing a good chunk of tells and such during combat.

  13. I'm having a problem with the blanket assertion that anyone having trouble with the beta is just on outdated rigs and needs to upgrade. This is a poorly optimized game at this point. Full stop. Reality is that the number of people who can afford to buy new hardware is shrinking. Want more customers? Fix your game to run on what normal people already have.

  14. Most people don't even meet the minimum system requirements, game requires 6GB VRAM bare minimum at the lowest settings. Those polygons blobs are due to lack of VRAM or exceeding the VRAM limits of your GPU. On the graphical menu it clearly shows your VRAM allocation. Game also appears to use primitive or mesh shaders so 6 years and older GPUs won't run this game optimally and performance will tank, so RIP GTX 10 series, RX400/500 and Vega cards.

  15. I played the beta on my GTX 1660 and although it wasn't on the highest settings, it ran just fine in terms of fps. I was getting 60 fps on average (granted, i don't remember now if framegen was turned on or not.) the ONLY issue that was bothering me, was that the textures looked…odd. I know they weren't going to be gorgeous graphics, sure, but they felt…blurry? I'm not sure how better to describe it.

All in all, I was already planning on getting a new pc soon anyway, and this is just one more motivator for me to do so. I know capcom won't dissapoint with the full release of the game and i'm really excited for it.

  16. The problems my friends ran into was with cards like the 1080 and 1070ti. They don't have DLSS and the lack of upscaling makes it where they can only get around 15-20 fps. It was playable enough but definitely was not a good experience. That being said, they definitely need to upgrade those old cards.

  17. rip i was so excited to play wilds but i could barely run the beta 20 min after i just decided to uninstall it and hop back on mhw I know i have a lower end pc but I'm not boutta upgrade it just for wilds

  18. played with my 1080 and maxed out at 25 fps on low settings mostly xD but it was really smooth 25 fps. kinda felt like 40+ and there were no lag spikes so i was actually impressed it was playable on such fps.. will buy new pc soon to max wilds ^^

  19. I didn't see the poll, i found that there were some bad glitches, especially upon entering the tent if I'm using steam link, but outside of these and the need to optimize performance in settings, I was able to play on an old laptop. I think they will knock out these optimization issues by launch. The team has my confidence having played world and rise.

  20. I have a Ryzen 7800X3D and a RTX 2080 and I could only run the game at 1080p medium DLSS balanced and I was getting 30~40 fps.
I also had the same water texture bug. That's ridiculous.
Not to mention that this game running at low settings is considerably uglier than World, while it also performing worse.

  21. My wife hit a 60fps solid with no drops at 1440p mid/high graphics on a very cheap low/mid pc.

    Ryzen 5 5500, 16gb RAM, 6700XT and the world cheapest 1Tb SSD.

Did I expect slightly more performance on my rig? Yeah. But it was buttery smooth anyway.

  22. Shadow quality, draw distance, ambient occlusion, hair quality, mesh quality, differential shaders, trees quality, water reflections…

If you want to play the game with the same quality as World you definitely can… Just don't purely rely on the HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW settings…

There are a lot of things you can keep high while using the LOW settings and a lot of things you can lower while on HIGH

I feel the presets wildly messed up…

The requirements are still high but not nonsensical like lots of people say

Moreover I really don't understand what's all this adversity against framegen and upscaling… The entire reason for it's existence is to make people enjoy better graphics on lower end GPU tiers… We are not at the stage were we got anything better (edit: for the same price) so if you prefer to play with one hand tied behind your back then so be it

  23. People can be mad at devs if they want, i'm just mad at Nvidia for making low VRAM cards in the mid-high end for the last several years.

I've been telling people 8GB isn't enough for a while, and to only buy 10+Gb cards.

  24. Idk man a friend of mine told me about the beta being on a old build state and i cant comprehend why Capcom would do this, isnt the whole point of a beta on a game to improve the most recent build BEFORE launch ? Makes no sense to me. Imo.

  25. Let's be fair and honest. For what it delivers graphically, it runs far too poorly.
I know a lot of math has to be done in the background and it's sad that most content creators play the “criticism always comes from stupid players” card, like victim blaming here with “oh maybe they just don't know how to work their system” and act like one or two conversations here are a reflection of the majority, when in comparison all the people complaining are just a loud minority.
Sorry guys, if you act like we're all stupid and don't know what we're judging or delete comments, which I've also seen, you'll lose followers or risk downvotes, which you may or may not be able to handle in the grand picture of the health of your account.
It's up to you how you handle criticism of your channel or Monster Hunter.
A lot of people pretty much agree that it's going to be a good game and yet many are severely disappointed with the graphics and performance.
Let's just be honest. It's not going to win a single graphics award, it's a 6-7/10 game this generation in terms of graphics, right now a 5-6/10 game in terms of performance and a 11/10 in terms of gameplay for Monster Hunter Fans.
And that will be the most important thing. But still, we're allowed to complain and accept both parts of the game.
Played it on PS5 and will have a PS5 Pro once it will be released and well, it looked like a PS4 standard game.

  26. I've never seen a performance mode with this low resolution in any other game on both consoles. It's an unplayable bad joke for me. Seems to be a problem with the engine or something of course I don't know. Even Starfield's bad performance mode is acceptable for me but I can't play in 720pnoteven60 or whatever on a big 4k screen. Sucks that I'll probably have to play Wilds in 30 fucking fps in 20fucking25 but oh well…

  27. Xbox series X user here, performance was great, i dont run everything in 4k, u dont need to. Idk what framrate i got but i enjoyed my time playing. I had a crash while i was in the tent changing armor. I kinda felt bad for PC users who wailed about poor performance then said "i dont get 60-120fps!" Oh no….. LOL just kidding i didnt feel sorry, years of "our PCs run stuff so much better than consoles" really came back in their faces i guess?

  28. I dare to say, that wilds is wildly bad optimised compared to worlds. A GTX 1650 can run worlds in 60 fps, with occasional drop. But this? Doubt even a 5050 can even rung at least 45 fps when it release. U get even worst performance for a slightly better graphics. So no, aint acceptable. Every youtuber should not excuse this, except u guys get money from saying good shits, and getting free copy anyway. This game should at least run 60 fps constant with with 4060

  29. Didn't participate in the voting. I'm in the 10% I have a 3080 and a 10900k and I couldn't bring myself to play using DLSS or the artifacty frame gen. I completed the first hunt and spent another hour trying to find ways to optimize it and gave up. I think the average gamer doesn't care that it has to use DLSS or FrameGen and probably don't know what they are and aren't concerned enough with the quality to understand how badly they are being taken advantaged of and its annoying that I'm screaming we deserve better, then the comments pour in defending its poor performance. I myself buying Dragons Dogma 2 day 1 and not refunding it thinking it would be optimized (7 months later) still don't have a great experience over there either. So being part of that group, I have severe doubts that this will be fixed by launch or if ever. This beta shook my faith in Capcom. I canceled my preorder and now will wait to see what happens and going forward Capcom is now on my "don't fully trust them" list.
