  6. My first question is will you be able to get layer armor in the beginning or beginning-ish. Especially since they recently confirmed that you can wear both female and male armor regardless of the gender you pick.

  17. This spider is naked and hairy, unlike the other spiders. So many jokes will come from that.

    They did say each map will have minimum of 2 large monsters that operate in herds. We don't know if that's 2 unique ones per map at a minimum or just 2 total where the same one can take a slot in multiple maps. So how many will the scarlet forest have, given that doshaguma show up there? Doshaguma showing up may be sad, if it is literally 2 minimum and most of them have just 2, if doshaguma takes up a herd monster slot in both maps. Effectively meaning they mase 2 maps each only have one more monster that acts like this that is unique to that region. They did say minimum so there will be at least a map with more than 2 of them so we'll have to see how many have more and what the map with the most of them is. This, when we find out how many maps there are, can give us an estimation of how many herd monsters will be in game. I imagine that the expansion will add more as well.

    Another question with the scarlet forest is, since the amps will all operate like this with changing states, what will be the natural disaster in the forest? A storm with floods and its apex may be a water monster, perhaps?

  21. Barina looks like they just made a large monster version of the Puppet Spider from Rise. The fuzzy fore-limb paws, the twin tufts on the head, the hair on the abdomen sloping into that almost spade-like point. And it's lovely. The dancing movements. The fact that the "florets" are just little tangles of its hair that it kicks off – much like many real-life tarantulas do with their abdomen hairs. The fact that the flower is just it splaying all its hair out to make it bloom. The stinger being like a thorn of a rose. The fact that the stinger, lithe and dancing movements, rose theme, white fur padding, and even the shaping of the legs segments being a bit like sabers all also kind of lean into the characterization of the "romantic fencer." If the weapons are paralysis as well and the fight is good, I may just have a new favorite monster already.

    On a bit of a side note… This is "Lala" Barina and "Rey" Dau. There was a "Lolo" prefix monster and a "Ray" prefix monster in Frontier, and they were counterparts to each other. It almost certainly means nothing, I just find it funny, given they are the only two two-part names we have in Wilds so far and match a bit to some two-part ones from elsewhere. But, we've also had stuff like Tobi-KADACHI and Rakna-KADAKI in the series and are wholly unrelated, and Barroth and Barioth. It's funny, but I don't know why M.H. keeps doing it. Are they trying to make the names confusing for newcomers on purpose?

  26. Don't know if it's been mentioned but now that they showed the people farming the rock. The big pillars look like they are metal structures set out there in the sands by the people so that the lightning strikes them and they can farm it.

  29. One more curiosity about Lala Barina:

    My wife said it's attack pose with raised claws reminder her the Brazilian wandering spiders (or banana spiders/armed spiders), a very dangerous spider specie. "If you see one with this pose, run for your life"

    Bonus: I don't know if this is obvious, but Lala Barina -> La Bailarina -> The Ballet Dancer?
