  1. It said "Attack hit FROM behind".
Base on this logic, the source of the attack (yoursehlf) position is the main point.
Shooting piercing ammo/arrow from front should not be counted even the ammo passes through the monster from head to tail since the bullet come from front.

I havent tested it but just guess base on the wording.

    Anyway, it's an exciting skill!
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. The 5, 10, 20 it's confirmed that is a mistraslation. The Japonese version have it good. By the way: it affects shelling for gunlance and all the ticks of piercing ammo and saeds if thy first hit "the bottom half" of the monster

  3. I saw that on Reddit. In the Japanese it's correct with 20% increase, but English messed. Though I get where it came from since the Japanese says it multiples the damage by 1.2

  4. I’m really glad you took the time to test this out and explain exactly how it works. It seems a lot more useful than how it was presented. So thank you. I might have to hunt L Nargacuga to try this out

  5. saw a japanese video explore the mechanic. It's about 180 degree back arc. Furthermore, for skill bind skill with delay attack animation, if you move behind the monster then the delay attack trigger. That count as a back attack. IE: sakura slash, if you slide behind the monster after the initial slash, the delay multi hits will get the damage bonus. Same thing with LS counter, if you slide behind the monster after the initial attack, the delay multi hits will count as back attack. So you could land back attack even against head or other front target as long you slide behind the monster before the multi hit happen. Could also work with helm breaker, if you your self on a cliff, so you you slide to the monster's back via falling down the cliff.

  6. I suspect what happened in the tooltip was a translation error from Japanese to English.

In Japanese, the number 12 could be written as 十二 while the number 20 could be written as 二十. I'm guessing there was a typo somewhere along the way and the thus the English version says 12% instead of 20% like its supposed to.

  7. I believe the increase is factored in on the raw value of attack
Non crit hits should get the boosts mentionned on the skill description, however when u factor in critboost it pushes the values you see to what seems to be higher than 12%!
