One thing I noticed: You don't use the manual kinsect aim to cancel the downtime frames of Tetraseal/Tornado. Aiming and using the manual recall (or the launch), besides now giving you iframes with yellow extract post-Sunbreak, is a hard animation cancel that will skip recovery frames – and turn you in the direction you're aiming at. So you can get some really stupid uptime that way.
It's a trick that's worked since at least World, and Capcom seems to have intentionally buffed it further by making it a dodge.
Poor rathalos he just want to enjoy his vacation in the citidel. That IG build looks very fun and strong especially when comparing the one on stream.
I love the insect glaive. I have my Nargacuga IG upgraded and it's been doing great for me
What about Shagaru's IG?
Perfect, just got a wonderful talisman for IG
It's insane how many people are sleeping on how much better this weapon got. I have been consistently carrying lobbies online with IG. I run the reframework DPS tracker mod and I am consistently carrying about 50% of a 4 person lobby's dps. I love the changes so much.
I use the Foebeetle assist kinsect that way on my opening I can always get Earplugs on monster roars and then target the face to get Red extract on Kinsect Slash. Always confirms a level 3 diving wyvern and then I proceed to fish for Roundslash counters. When mon is downed or trapped I sometimes swap to Advance kinsect to yeet in the face then follow up with 2 kinsect slashes on the face for red extract into a slicer. Its just super satisfying.
I love the awakened Kinsect sooooo much. I love spaffing him right in the face getting the powder drops and then vortexing for a big damage. I love the vortex attacks. I use on multiplayer as well but you just explode them quicker, 2 or 3 instead of a big bomb. Still helps your damage and get health for your teammates
I really like the Furious Rajang IG, it has big amount of purple without handcraft + 2 lvl 2 slots + 330 raw and no negative affinity. I'm pretty sure this is the best all purpoise IG.
i was maining lbg and hbg for whole my rise playthrough, yesterday i tried out the glaive for first time in all the mh games i played.. and im sold lol. totally love this weapon now. compared to the slow hbg all the time.
Agree with all except the utility of Silkbind Vault. Kinsect Glide is problematic when monster is marked because you cannot control Kinsect Glide, it will automatically glide towards the marked spot. Silkbind Vault is very useful as it acts like a second dash when in air. Tons of mobility and easy to reposition especially when using Diving Wyvern. It's so underrated.
I would recommend to get at least lv 1 evade extender on every weapon, its really really good
Severing Kinsects deal elemental damage directly proportional to the base elemental value the glaive has as well as the Kinsect Level.
You can test this by comparing damage values of a non-elem glaive (Narga, Kamura, etc.) versus an elem glaive of the same Kinsect Level (Luna, Rathalos, etc.). When Severing Kinsects hit, they also have the corresponding particle effects of that same element: fire bursts for Fire, water splashes for Water, snow clouds for Ice, blue lightning for Thunder, and red sparks for Dragon.
Severing Kinsects aren’t used as often because when you’re solo or speedrunning, having the capability to stun a monster while using a Blade weapon is extremely good. However, if you’re in a party with a Hammer user or a Bowgun user shooting stickies at the monsters head, with people that can reliably KO a monster, that’s when the option of using a Severing Kinsect becomes more valuable as you can focus on cutting off a tail.
hey, im checking out this build you show in this video, but i noticed that there is no coalesence skill in it? often builds with bloodlust (that activate frenzy stuff) are paired with the coalesence (that give you buff after recovery from blights) have you tried that also? for example taking the arc/storge helm instead of the kaiser crown helm would put coalesence in there instead of some critical boosts. hmm im going to try out which gives higher damage right now, but need to farm the rathalos coil first lol
In monster hunter world i could stay on top of the monster with IG the whole time but in rise the monster hitboxes are so big that i still get hit 6 feet above the monster and fall on my butt feels pretty bad
With Rise they made IG super fun, with Sunbreak they must have found some kind of dark magic cuz the IG is waaaaaay more fun than ever. Through base Rise I swapped between IG and SwAxe, and when I was confident enough I'd bust out the GS. But so far in Sunbreak I haven't swapped weapons once. This IG is some of the most fun I've ever had in a game.
Super recovery dango lvl 4 basically eliminates dereliction health drain. Especially if you add in the gourmet fish buff. Makes dereliction so easy to run without worrying about the health drain.
Hands down the best build video are the ones that leave in carts and the full hunt with said build 😎
A set without life drain??
That charm lmao
awakened kinsect attack is terrible though
wtf kind of talisman is that?! LOL
I be getting stupid ass ones and now I'm even more demoralized on talisman farming lol
Sweet build non the less! Even better that its talisman independant
My only problem with Boosted Powder Extract (BPE) kinsect is that I'm pretty sure it can't proc BPE on Kinsect Slash, despite this move counts as kinsect assist (it still can proc on DW). This discourages me to use this kinsect with aerial IG playstyle :/
IG was born in the sky, GL merely adopted it.
it's so relateable to go in vs a familliar monster and get dogged within one minute because you weren't really paying attention. only to sit up straight and go: now listen here u lil shit, imma make you sit down so hard you can't stand up again.
and completely decimate the rest of the hunt xd
I could never run IG without at least three levels of Constitution, fair fucks man
As much as I like the Awakened attack, I agree with what you said here which is how it loses viability in MP as your teammates can wreck it.
At 22:43 what is that large energy ball you are hurling?
Dude what mic are you using?
"Hands down this is the one you want to work with"
But its so ugly!
id say I get knocked using jumping advance slash about 50% of the time. I find it more useful for large monsters that move and fly a lot like the chameloes or nargacuga cuz its honestly wiff city when they dodge before their moves that have huge hit boxes. just my opinion
i think evade extender 3 on glaive is mandatory its so much fucking fun you can really act like a dragoon from final fantasy with all the changes and switch skills we have now its great
if you have the slots or the talisman to insert a couple of protective polish talismans i can strongly reccomend it if you want more weapon variety
I used to watch your ds2 videos lol.
When I found out we are able to craft decos in Rise my first thought was “now I can make talisman independent builds… or at least 90% of a whole build.”
And here we are thanks Cowboy
Ibushi's weapons are crazy on any weapon type that really chews through sharpness, provided you have a good grinder (s) talisman. That's because it has a small amount of natural purple and skips white, so grinder (s) provides 34 raw for 90 seconds every time you sharpen. Combine with protective polish 2 (3 is too much because it'll give you grinder downtime, you actually want only 2) and speed sharpen 3 and you'll basically be at purple sharpness with 374 base raw and neutral affinity for 90 second every time you sharpen. You can easily hit 100% crit boost 3 affinity with that too, provided you have the grinder talisman. I personally find it a tedious way to play, but I think it's worth mentioning since IG is one of those weapons that benefits heavily from it (and imo the IG is one of Ibushi's best-looking weapons).
Could u do an updated glaive build?
I love how they incorporated the kindest into your attacks in Sunbreak
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I swear I have more damage related perks than this building but yet I’m doing less damage that weapon must be way way better than the one I’m using
Started using Glaive because of the style some of the weapons have, I'm consuming an unhealthy amount of copium hoping for layered weapons in the next free updates
