On April 19, 2023 a tornado outbreak occurred in Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa. The tornadoes in this video were near the towns Strong City Kansas and Cottonwood Falls Kansas. A cyclic supercell thunderstorm produced 2 significant tornadoes rated EF2 by the NWS as they uprooted or snapped hardwood trees, damaged a metal panel building, tore down transmission lines and overturned or damaged 67 headstones in a graveyard. 6 other weak tornadoes were surveyed by the NWS with this storm. Three of those I was able to document though they were not highlighted in this particular video.

Shoulda said "the hook might hit us with suitcases full of money"
As a child I was deathly afraid of tornadoes. Living in the hills of WV I’m not sure why, yes they have occurred within a small radius of home but nothing like in the Midwest and south. Your channel has somehow turned a fear into fascination and look forward to every time you post. Love your work, be safe out there.
Mercury sure is in Gatorade
As he drives into town: "People here are going to be picnicking"… closed caption lost that one.
Felt that bang through the screen 😂
This video is insane!
Amazing video hank❤ thank you ! I was wondering if you were going to release anything we had so many tornadoes the last month I was sure that you were to cover a couple of them but I understand it's dangerous we don't expect you to risk your life And we're also not asking for anything too crazy I love your channel keep it up with the tornado videos they're awesome a lot of people appreciate the work you do
I like how to closed captions said burrito instead of tornado at exactly 2:00. anyway hunting in the dark must be extremely terrifying.
loving the fact that the captions kept saying "burrito" whenever hank said tornado hahaha
Whoa!
Enjoy your time away.
I watched the ass end of that storm when I was head home to Newton I was is Hillsboro KS and watch the very end go over the new Peabody KS wind farm right off of HWY 50 I only saw some dark clouds and a big lightning bolt
Well that terrified me… and in person I'm sure it was several times louder and more startling.
"People are going to be picnicking" Well they're picking a pretty bad time for that
Did the KS Highway Patrol pull up over Pecos or was it SCPD or CFPD the KS troopers can be pricks sometimes
So sorry that your windshield got hit by that baseball sized hail but very nice to know you didn't get hurt despite getting showered by the glass and sorry you got that ticket by that cop who didn't understand how important the work you do is! Please keep up the great work you do. I know that 2023 will be a very dangerous year for those very tricky tornadoes and hurricanes.
Damn that rouge ice! Hopefully the windshield won't cost too much to replace and hopefully the cameras are all good and start behaving for the rest of the season. See ya out there!
Hank! Great video as usual. Where was this tornado?
I'd have been screaming when that baseball hit my window! Pecos Hank is so amazing and cool(and totally calm under pressure)! Even my husband likes his videos. And he usually hates videos I like to watch.
I have a curious question. How do storm chasers of different experience levels interact with each other when you’re on the same storm? Are there some actual rivalries? Are there some chasers everyone gives the stink eye to and others everyone agrees are all right?
WOW, that baseball hail hitting your window unexpectedly, I was all focused on the tornado and BAM, almost made me fall out of bed!! Awesome video, what a day, absolutely crazy! So glad you're okay!! 2023 yikes!⚾🌪️🌪️
You are BADASS dude!!! I would die on the spot!
This is why I love planet Earth.❤
Dang! Glad you're okay, Hank.
I’m truly sorry hank, but the windshield getting smashed right after you finished your sentence absolutely had me dying 😂
The cell heard you talking a little smack and decided to humble you in the nicest way possible! A single baseball sized stone! Glad it was just that however
😗 yes, 2023, my instinct says it's going to be a dangerous year for stormchasing, stay safe 🙏👋
2:00 "Yeah, there's another burrito." – CC… lol
It was almost like that tornado knew you were there
Did anyone hear him say where this was? Was this from the recent Oklahoma hail storm/tornado outbreak?
That intro time lapse is great for showing off* cyclonic structure.
Sorry about yer winder, partner.
I am a big fan for years and I wanted to say I'm interested in tornados
You know Hank, I just started watching your videos again, and it's like see an old friend again with that smile of yours 💕
