Monolith Rising – a mixed media hybrid animation

I made this animation in Blender using frame-by-frame animation, stop motion / stop frame animation, simulation animation, and keyframe transform animation.

I used hand drawn grease pencil assets and built 3D shapes from them. I also used flat 2D drawings, and some 3D models found online (credited below).

I used 2 different types of smoke simulation animation (the main animation technique credited below).

I also used 3D photogrammetry models for the outro patron screen, scanned via KIRI Engine.
