Wizards and Warriors starts a new animated alternative history documentary series focusing on the Mongol Invasion of Europe and asking What if the Mongols invaded Europe. In our scenario, Ogedei Khan doesn’t die in 1241, which allows the Mongols to retain their unity and continue their incursions into Europe and Middle East. In 1245, the Mongols under the leadership of Batu Khan invade central Europe leading to the intense battles in medieval Bohemia. At the battle of Olomouc in 1246, the allied armies of the Holy Roman Empire attempted to stop the Mongol invasion. The defeat here didn’t stop the Mongols who were now full of wrath. And although the Europeans were now preparing a Crusade, this wrath will bring them to Bohemia and the siege of Prague will make things even worse. At the same time, a group of Mongols led by Batu Khan moved south to attack Italy and sacked Rome. To the north the armies of Subotai and Kadan were invading Germany and moving towards France, leading to the battles of Lubeck and Fulda Gap against the alliance created by Emperor Wenceslaus and King of France Louis IX. The death of Louis and end of the mongol threat, allowed the king’s brother Charles of Anjou to take the throne and attack Frederick II of Sicily. After receiving a mauling at the battle of Isonzo, Batu returned to the Hungarian Kingdom in summer 1249, and immediately unleashed his horsemen in a wave of reprisals, leading to the battles of Buda and Esztergom, and the eventual retreat of the Mongols from central Europe. The end of the Teutonic Knights is the end of Germanic Prussia and the Baltic locals either side with Lithuania or form there own German free Baltic state akin to Lithuania.
Portugal and Scotland will also gain due to being outside of the Mongol onslaught.

What's interesting here is that the same Khan who ordered the death of the Pope and the sacking of Rome might have been remembered as a Messiah. Messiah (hewbrew Moshiach) just means "anointed one" and is used to refer to kings who aid the Jews, including foreign kings. Cyrus the Great was a Messiah, for returning the Jews from the Baylonian exile.
1. You downplayed how powerful the brainwashing of the Catholic church was to incite racism to the Christians.
2. The bohemian guerilla tactics are more than enough to stop the real Mongol Invasion. Castles were built to store food inside the walls and starve the large army. Supply lines would slow them down. The Mongols were well known in Europe.

Woo! A good finale for a great series, I hope y’all continue with these alt history scenarios. And perhaps maybe doing a follow up series of this mongol invasion show casing the other mongol campaigns and how they were weakened or strengthened.
With this ending especially in the Balkans. The Empire of Nicea would be in a better position to take over Greece and take back Constantinople and make Bulgaria, Serbia, and Cyprus as major Tributary states. Given they were not harmed under the mongol invasion

Hey guys, what if you do a DOCUMENTARY about the war on Helldivers 2. It's been almost 4 months, you have alot of news, events wins and losess. C'mon!
It'd be fascinating to see how Nicea would perform. Venice looks preoccupied and most of its other neighbors are heavily damaged with polities next to them which the Romans could exploit diplomatically. Constantinople and much of Bulgaria might well be in reach of liberation, and the sheer chaos which would consume so much of Europe and notably the Balkans could give the empire a chance to consolidate and rebuild.
The templars absolutely did not plot to kill the king of France.
Mongols would be very likely to convert to Christianity… when they got full control over the church clergy.. Like how they easily converted to Islamism, Confucianism, Buddhism along the way. They could sire a new son, whatever colored horde, dedicated to Christianity and Europe. The human corpses were the least phycological horrors. The zombified remains of the corpses of civilizations, beheaded, aimless, causing even greater devastations. The west Europe was truly the only type of civilization left alive on the Eurasian continent. Multi-polar world order, what a joke.
This europe's balance of power is incredibly changed, the old heartland in central europe is utterly charred, instead, England, Iberia, and France are the least affected and likely will be the most important, France especially due to the civil war that will no doubt determine who France aligns with. Genoa overtaking Venice also is important, as with Venice now just another minor player, Genoa has the opportunity to take up the mantle of a new Christian reformation, in the same way Venice had tried to. The foundation exists, they just need to do it. The Mongols will be back, however, they will find a much more united Europe by the time they return. In about 30 or 40 years, it is easy to see the Mongols returning. It would be interesting to see if the Europeans adopt Mongol tactics, possible european horse archers carry mongol-style composite bows alongside lances/swords and armor. Maybe due to the Mongols showing up for longer, Europeans experiment with the gunpowder they introduced, since they have the materials necessary to make it, they could theoretically start producing low-yield grenades. War speeds up technological progress, so it is concievable that inventions that came up 1 to 2 centuries later would be invented during this time.
After waiting an entire year for this- I dare say- The journey has been satisfying thus far for the Alternative History series. Hope to see at least a final epilogue of the alternative Mongol invasion story (but ofc that can wait another time and give plenty of time for us fans to imagine how the end would look like based on the end of the documentary)

I swore this was already done, I came here hoping it was a part two! Nevertheless, it is a grand story to listen to, with the ever so simple animations, yet pleasing. Part two when?
