Agree that it was a tad slower than normal as there were a few words that were difficult to just "know" without some crosses.

I'm new to full size crosswords and this one completely stumped me, it definitely felt harder than normal
I'm not sure if this is relevant as it seems such an odd coincidence but from my long ago Ag College days I know that the Latin name for the big black slug that is found in UK fields and gardens is arion ater so Arianators is perhaps an unfortunate choice for any fan club members !
