  1. Jacob's character is hilarious and the story feels like classic dead island if your a dead island fan you will absolutely love the game like me I waited for it for 9 to 10 years and we finally got it and it was a miracle it wasn't complete garbage and the gore my God the gore is just beautiful

  3. When you review a zombie game, you gotta review it compared to other zombie games and judge it that way tho:/ you can’t compare dead island 2 to Elden ring like🤷‍♂️ feel like some people miss that, I went into this game with the mentality of is it gonna be better then DL2, but pretty much if you like dying light, Dead island, Left 4 Dead, games like that, you love Dead island 2. That’s my take on it

  4. Im really enjoying this game. Whenever I get bored this game has been perfect to just hop on, not think about anything and satisfyingly obliterate zombies. It might not be winning any GOTY awards but its far from a bad game imo. Just the fact that it took them almost a decade from when this game was announced to release it and its a stable experience with no incessant bugs/glitches, stuttering, crashing, etc like 80% of games recently is an achievement on its own.

  5. I honestly think the selling point is just being able to play the section the trailer was advertised at. The detail of seeing how the zombies would come out of the sand was really neat.

I can agree the sewer was generic, but I did genuinely enjoy the other sections.

I didn't have issues with mass zombies (id say 6-7), at least at the beach.

I'm just happy we got something, but yes, the writing was hugely disappointing.

  6. What does a generic zombie game even mean when there barely are any high quality first person zombie slashers out there? Dying Light is really the only comparable gaming experience to Dead Island that I know of. Are there so many good first person zombie games out there already that DI2 could be generic, or rather that it being generic would make it not good?

  7. SPOILERS

The audacity they had to release a game 9 years after teasing it to then end it on a cliff hanger is insane… I loved Dead Island 1 so it's safe to say I enjoyed this, however the cliff hanger left a really bad taste in my mouth…

  8. Hope they take a page out of dying light 2 and have a physics/combat update. Hitting enemies feels so limp, very little feedback.

Dying Light 1 is still fairly unrivaled in pure physical and visceral feel of meleeing zombies.

  9. I dunno if I agree with the 55. I personally fell its more of a 70. It’s definitely got flaws, but it has a better identity than Dying light 2 which was a major disappointment

  10. I'm starting to think uh, that uh, you've consumed so much in the past 3 years that everything is now just annoying to you. I understand paid monetization for these games you have to force yourself to play, but maybe you should do longer playthroughs till the end of the game. IMO there's really good things as you progress in the games you dislike from 3 hours of play.

  11. Well, this is a shame. Good-bye, Dead Island. You never were my favorite, or very good, but you were on the scene. Not having an ending is definitely a no sell point for me. DLC be damned, it has to have an ending. Ten years for no ending is just wrong, and I don't care how many hands it changed, someone could have given it a clean wrap up.

  12. Yeah i dont even think he played the right game. Like claiming theres an unreasonable amount of slo-mo when i almost NEVER saw it, maybe a few dozen times throughout the entire game, and saying “ThErE aRe AlMoSt No ZoMbIeS aNyWhErE” like motherfucker OPEN YOUR EYES!! Like the games great, he just has shit taste. Like the gameplay is fantastic, weapon customization is AMAZING, the skills system is really cool, the story is pretty good, the world is really awesome, and Dani’s writing is phenomenal, and has SO much charm, idk about the other characters, but i LOVE Dani. Shes a cheeky irish cunt, absolutely perfect. The ONLY thing thats bad is the ending, but its clearly setting up for add ons down the line, most likely just so the game could actually release this decade. Only other thing that kinda sucks is that certain zombies have complete immunity to weapons with certain effects, not just a resistance. Thats also a bit annoying, but not the worst thing, just encourages you to use more than just one weapon. Overall an 8.5/10, at the least. Like just say its not your kind of game, dont make shit up. The games great, you just prefer other genres. Thats like me trying to review a sports game, like i dont play them, dont like them, so me going in to review one is gunna sound a lot like this video, just negative and with no actual thought behind it. Do better, Charlie. You’re better than this.

  13. I totally agree with everything that you’ve brought up , like don’t get me wrong in terms of dismembering the zombies and combat is pretty good , but the story is really bland , it seems like a repetitive cycle with each mission you do. Someone needs help, they go missing , you go through each place in the map to find them , with new enemies in different terrains. The ending was very generic and have seen in previous games. I wish there were more of a connection with the character you play as , and something I think would have been great to adapt in the game ,would be multiple choice. Bad and good endings. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed the game but the fact that it took me only 9 hours to complete the main missions is honestly a little bit disappointing. I would give it a 5/10 and that’s even a little bit too much but yeah

  14. they did all of the zombie crushing bits right but fcked up on the story, I mean dead island one took a long ass time to do, I still bought the game bc of what the first one meant to me, but like BL3 it just doesn't quite hit the mark
