  1. To be honest: I played it on release day laugh and deleted it. Than I tried 2 times in the past 8 years but it didnt catch me. Now a few weeks ago I started a new try and it was able to hold me, BUT! After the 30 hours of mission-content the game starts getting boring fast, because there is NO such thing like exploring. The reason for this you mentioned in the video procedural generated worlds are basically looking all similar. All the fauna/flora for the different biomes are basically looking similar so after 10-20 planets everything starts to become a never ending quintillion times repeating boringness… and due to the stupid fact that they made expeditions only temporarily available you even cant play that content which would give you maybe another few hours of content. So basically most player starts with an AAAAA WTF! COOL! and than after 15 hours they go on with another game.

  2. What that guy in that review video doesn't get, is that you don't have to actually build your first base in the tutorial at that second planet, sure you are led to that planet but it ultimately doesn't care where you build it. You can get back into your ship and go to a different planet and plop down there. Of course at that point you don't have a hyperdrive so your limited to the planets in the system you started in, which pending on luck may or may not have a planet you wouldn't mind plopping down on.

The Giant worm creatures flying through the sky about while scary are invincible and harmless, the smaller ones popping out of ground aka the nesting version on the other hand.

  3. I completely agree with you. NMS doesn't know what it wants to be. Exploring is fun at first, but gets old quick. Combat is okay at first, but nothing special. The story line is okay, freighters are okay, player ships are okay, learning languages is okay but then it gets old, but there is nothing great about the game imo.

  4. I mean it’s aight – if they added real aliens and combat it’d be better – I’m not talking about those annoying ass drones , why are there drones on every planet

  5. only like 14mins in and i think the one thing i'm getting is, really deep down you appreciate this game but on the surface or because it seems cool or the norm you dislike it or rather don't understand what the game actually is, which i think is really common, Everyone wants no mans sky to be something more than what it was meant to be, this expectation is what makes people think it's not great. It's meant to be a vast universe with multiple galaxies to explore, they are still updating it to improve everything people have added expectations of. There is a smaller more condensed experience for those that want it, try Starfield. I have 8 years after launch still got love for this game, i don't play it all the time but i'm currently trying to playthrough the story completely to get to some of the new content. Good video so far, interesting to hear your thoughts.

  6. I got No Man’s Sky just after launch. About once a year or so I reinstall it and play for a few hours to see all the amazing new updates… but honestly most of the time I can barely tell what’s been added. To me, it's more tedious than fun.
