One of the best shows ever made
A family member bought my grandad a knock of Swiss Army knife. He broke it after a couple weeks. I knew what to buy- a genuine victorinox. He’s carried it everyday for 5 years now and not one complaint

I would have expected them to mention the sharpest blades around, microtomes. These are the knives that slice through tissue samples embedded in frozen wax. They can produce slices down to one cell thickness.

Today… marines are afraid of swords or anything dangerous. So they rarely get them.. same with the rest of America's military… toss so weak and afraid they can't even shoot. The bang scares them and it's stressful.
Most swords are found by river beds because when you are fleeing and need to swim across the river you drop your sword because swimming with a sword is nearly impossible.
This is an excellent documentary on the knife and sword. Although, I do have one criticism… The very last words in the show are from the sword smith, “The EDGE is the true technology.” There is virtually no information here on the actual cutting edge and how it’s sharpened.
Everyone in this episode other then the narrator made my BS Meter go off.
As a collector of knives and swords, this has always been my favorite M.M. episode.
Knapping an obsidian knife using your bare thigh as an anvil is probably a great way to make Darwin happy.
