  1. Great video. I have a Dakota Digital VHX in my 85 C20 LS swapped truck and will be putting one in my 91 S10 LS swapped here soon. I love their clusters for the same reason of the remote control box and the simple plug in of the cluster to the box. Plus Dakota has a great warranty and tech support. Wiring it is really simple and they have many options to make everything work. I would not go with any other cluster, Dakota Digital has the best one out there in my opinion.
In addition to the Dakota I have the RetroSound Motor 4 in my 85 Chevy C20 and a Motor 2 New York in my 91 Chevy S10 and as you said you can match the colors. My C20 is red and my S10 will be white. My Motor 4 was a tight fit in the S10, but I was able to mount it without having to remotely wire it like you did. With a good amp and speakers, the RetroSound radios sound great.

  2. Haha i just installed these gauges yesterday but they sent me a faulty module. Cant wait till tomorrow when the module gets in so i can see them finally work.

P.s. im almost 110% sure u have that many cts because one is for the computer, one is for the gauge & the last one is what turns on that little fan behind your grill like when you are towing things. Dont quote me on that but im pretty sure.

  3. 3 temp sensors on the big block is correct. Drivers side head is the gauge. Passenger head is the aux cooling fan. The one on the manifold talks to the computer.

I like those gauges but as long as my originals keep working on my trucks I'm gonna keep my money in my wallet.

  4. Have you noticed any design changed in the new dash that will keep it from self destructing like oem? I wont even mess with the square dashes typically, the mounting is weak it seems.
