    My point is, i'm going to rewatch this series again since it was that good up till now! It felt logical and less weird, i see why it is a best seller in china :3

  10. Note, he has failed at providing a lesson for the man he sentenced to be whipped. The man acted as anyone who felt they are wronged would. The right course of action is not to punish them for acting but informing them of what to do in future instances. If anything, he may fear speaking up out of fear of further punishment. While, the man’s actions were wrong. Their intent was just. Fun fact: families with little education background more readily resort to physical punishment as a form of behavioral correction. Personally, I do not think punishment is necessary bad. There are time when it is necessary. However, such times are very very seldom. Using redirection and reinforcement along with alternatives to punishment have a beneficial impact on behavior. For example, a man could be tortured for information yet without being told why he is being tortured will not know how to get the punishment to stop. In the end all the interrogators wanted to know was the victim’s favorite color. It sounds silly, but if you were the victim would you have been able to guess that was the solution to stopping the torture. Moral of the story is be direct about what you want from people and guide them if they are failing. Processed accordingly from then on because what Ro-(whatever his name is) did was akin to watching a man rob a baby then tell the baby he will receive 10 spankings for crying about stolen candy. Should the baby cry over stolen candy? Should the man have punched someone extorting him? Rather subjective. You could argue both ways for both cases, but the clear rebuttal for one is true for the other, they don’t know any better. They need time to grow and learn. Yes even adults need to time to adapt to dramatically new environments.

  12. Low key, why did Rowland sentence a citizen (or refugee) to cruel/unusual punishment? It goes against is whole not like the other royals vibe. While such forms of punishments were typically of medieval times, well obviously they are outlawed by modern society. People use to drill into a person’s skull to “exercise evil spirits” or something. Suffice to say these people did not survive the “treatment” either dying from infection or from a drill in the brain. Yeah, not surprising people weren’t to bright back then. So, why the f¥€£ would he causally look to medieval practices as a go to solution. Although it’s annoying, it makes sense for the man to think Roland is kind considering the usual punishment. However, based on the morals of the society Rowland came from, a fee or some time in jail would be more appropriate for assault if he wanted to make an example. They can fix you physically, but what about mentally? Stanford prison experiment look it up. Unchecked power is a slippery slope.

  19. I love this series and cant wait for the next season. I love how funny it is the best thing the church has is a cannon while the prince has an army of cannons. I bet by the end of the manga or when the demons become a problem they will have WW1 tech or early WW2 tech which is funny to think.
