‘Modern coal generation has 40 per cent lower emissions’ than current aging coal fleet: Credlin

Sky News host Peta Credlin says the Albanese government regards more coal-fired power as “unthinkable” even though “modern coal generation has 40 per cent lower emissions” than our current aging coal fleet.

“And hydrogen at scale and renewables are not the silver bullet they’re sold as,” she said.

“At least let’s get more gas in the system given gas has 50 per cent less emissions than even the most efficient coal-fired power.”

  1. Same bat time
    Same bat channel
    Same Sky puppets
    Same complaints
    Same result
Australians voted overwhelmingly to support those who support clean renewable energy sources, ALP Greens and Independents. 👍

  2. Where is the gas and coal coming from, considering we export most of our fossil fuels. Taking it one step further, the price of the damn stuff is going through the roof, as these are international commodities. So my way of thinking is, prices are going up. And the fact is, right now, Australia derives more energy from fossil fuel, linked to commodity prices, than renewables that are not.

  3. This has been known and understood for a couple of decades but a forbidden topic. China though takes advantage of modern technology while Australia cringes at the feet of the climate cult.

  4. What is the difference between wind- and solar power compared to coal power?
Coal doesn't depend on the whims of nature.
Today we might have a perfect wind, not too strong and not too weak, but during the night, it stops completely and we're left in the dark. So how do we get the wind to blow again?
I'd like to see how the Green Left is going to answer that question.

  5. I've often wondered why Labor doesn't just invest in solar panels/ solar hot water for all new homes being built? Coal is the life Blood of this country because our current government are to soft and green to invest in nuclear. I know where I'd be putting my money if I was PM

  6. Even if C02 emissions were a problem, Australia's contribution barely registers on the anthropogenic (man made) scale of 3%. It's almost non-existent on the total global scale. Australia's contribution to the anthropogenic emissions is just 1.16% of that 3%. Our government is planning to destroy the environment, prime agricultural land, rural communities and Australia's economy to reduce almost non existent emissions by half. Nothing we do will make squat diddly difference to the weather or the climate, they are handing us over on a silver platter.

  7. Every time governments mess with innovation and capitalism they screw up. It is pathetic to watch people who have no expertise in anything making rules and regulation that ultimately will
be useless as innovation makes leaps forward. Just leave capitalism alone.

  8. I think inflations is causing the current situation we already have now, increments in the price of gas,and rate of unemployment is becoming inconducive.it's obvious we are headed for hyperinflation, unfortunately having a job doesn't mean been safe rather having multiple income streams that doesn't depend on the government would be a great decision,
