  1. Richard, thanks for the guided tour of this excellent layout. We were there on the day you were recording this and can be seen at the end of the layout as you finish talking to Phil. I had a good chat with Pete about modelling and railways in general. Great channel, I'm using your layout for inspiration and techniques for my model railway.

  2. A good video showcasing the layout here Richard, while I would love to see it in person I think it is very likely that wonโ€™t happen unfortunately, most times the layout is set up in places far away from where I live and from what I have seen it only attends the bigger shows which I donโ€™t get to that much because again they are in places quite a distance from where I live, an overall good layout but just a shame that the only way Iโ€™m likely to experience it is through videos like this.

  3. Great video and a fantastic layout โ€ฆ know the three big office blocks at the real station very well! My only gripe is that you have a Routemaster as the only bus โ€ฆ you could have picked up a Corgi OOC model of an Optare Solo Bus. Code/Ref: OM44106. Scale: 1:76. Livery: MK Metro Ltd. Route: 14 Stony Stratford
That would have been far more appropriate!

  4. A nice Richard. I thought you might have mentioned the biscuits in your previous video.
I'm hoping to attend the NEC exhibition in April as I've missed out so far and would love to drive a class 50 given. I have 9 on order. I liked the last piece of music on this video

  6. I went to Chester to see it and sadly my eyesight isn't good enough to appreciate it in person. It's great that you've done a decent video on it to show it off. Was fun seeing the kids running trains and chasing them around the layout. First impression in Chester wasn't the size, largely because I heard Pete before i could see it! "There's nothing running out the front!" a line that every exhibition manager should take note of, this is entertainment and moving trains do just that.

  7. Thanks for sharing buddy.

This enterprise must equal, perhaps rival "Leamington Spa" in many ways now – heck of an achievement, just goes to show what a skilled and dedicated team can achieve.

  8. Thanks for shooting this video first, second THANK Pete and all his volunteers/workers for putting this on again !!!!!! I really wish we ( in Canada ) would do something like this show, but since Covid I feel the many shows have dried up….

  9. A great video showing the Making Tracks layout, giving a general insight into its operation..
Itโ€™s a layout for the general public, as well as railway enthusiasts of all ages.
I was a volunteer and looked after the public operators of all ages, some as young as 2 and the oldest gentleman was 91, they all thoroughly enthralled and enjoyed the experience.
Liked your reference of the size your layout to the size of making tracks, showed how big this great layout is ..
Good to meet you, and look forward to operating with you again .

  11. Great vid, i am not a train buff, nor modeller, Grandad was back 50 years ago, but i do appreciate the hard graft and work, dedication, and passion these people put into such an exhibition, to me, Pete Waterman, has always been a well grounded and in touch with reality person, so a good ambassador for this cause
