  1. I²S (Inter-IC Sound, pronounced "eye-squared-ess"), is an electrical serial bus interface standard used for connecting digital audio devices together. -wikipedia

  2. Ironically, the texture antialiasing capabilities was one of the selling points of the N64 back then, yet the look of the games with native resolution but no antialiasing aged far better than they actually looked on the original hardware

  3. 22:24 – it’s silly to me that you need to “dock” your switch upside down and plug a cable into the top between it and the dock. It’s more of a holder with a hub inside than a dock lol. Still, looks absolutely beautiful!

  4. Just for constructive criticism on what was an excellent update video that I thoroughly enjoyed watching, everyone calls it the Atari Twenty Six Hundred. Growing up with the system and participating in the classic gaming community online since I first went on the internet in 1997 or so, I can honestly say I never heard it called the Atari Two Six Hundred until now (including in Atari's own tv commercials). It's 80% the size of the 4 switch revision from 1980 or so that the system is modeled off (the originals were larger, heavier, and had six switches on the front; the 4-switcher was gaming's first "slim" redesign).

  5. The reflex adapter from Mister Addons just opened up for sale. It was marked as “out of stock” prior to the start time. I got confused as well – it’s just the way his store works.

  6. Mortal Kombat core requiring dual RAM sticks is a shame.. unless someone finds a work around I guess I'm not playing it. I also find myself becoming skeptical on the whole MARS thing. I dislike the way they're marketing it. It's all hype with little substance so far. The gaming scene has seen too many sketchy projects and products start off that way. The usual pattern is to hype up a product, announce some form of crowdfunding, get people to throw their money, produce a few prototypes, release a statement a year later like “We had no idea how difficult it would be to go from a prototype to mass production.”, then finally disappear like the Smach-Z and Intellivision Amico, or release a product like the Ouya that's already useless and out of date. MiSTer is currently available for purchase from multiple reputable retailers. People would be wise to wait until the same is true of MARS before committing to it.

  7. The Atari 2600+ has HDMI out and will run using original 2600 and 7800 cartridges. It’s 80% of the size of the original unit. You can also get the paddle controllers and a selection of re-released games. Internally it runs using emulation and not the original chipset or a modern chipset reproduction. This means this a very small number of cartridges will not work. It would have been awesome to have this done using a mini-FPGA chip for near 100% compatibility. I have seen a few hobby projects in the past using FPGA and real cartridges. Of course this may have driven the price of this product up and made it not appealing. I have also heard of some people trying to get cartridges connected up to MiSTer as well.

  8. There is a bug maybe that I'm experiencing with TMNT and the 8Bitdo arcade stick (not the XBox one but the previous one) where Select won't work for coins and I have to assign a face button as the Coin button for it to work. Anyone else experiencing this?
