  1. I was wondering about this game since I am a big Sanderson fan and board gamer. Thank you for the very well done review. Your description reminded me a lot of Dominion with some bits added on.

Starting to read Wind and Truth this weekend!!

  2. Love this game! Hopefully we get some characters from the Wax and Wayne era.
As a side note, took a couple of games for this to really click with me. Initially I was a little underwhelmed but a few games in and it really started to shine..for me anyway.

  3. I liked the game well enough, but the player powers that trigger on burning certain types of metals were strong enough cumulative over the game that it felt like a significant disadvantage if you don't build into that strategy, but then you are beholden to the market actually allowing you to pursue that strategy. I played Vin in a game where I was only ever able to buy one pewter card, and most of the cards in the market were brass, zinc, copper, and bronze focused around missions, and I couldn't keep up with the character who got a free mission point every turn while playing these cards that also gave mission points.

I'll play a few more times, but might house-rule an 8 card market instead of 6 if it keeps feeling that way.

  4. One thing I don't like deck building is that your success depends on what cards that you draw in a particular turn (such as Star Realm and Shards of Infinity) and it is very random. The only exception is Aeon's End. Does this game have this problem?

  5. Played it last night for the first time (2 player). I liked it a lot, I thought the theme came through more than they were saying. We did find in a two-player game that the most balanced option was Vin vs Shan. Maybe it was the cards that came out but when I played Marsh, I was able to easily beat the other player, unless I was Kelsier then I able to quickly kill the other player (he seems more balanced in multiplayer).
