Missing Titanic sub occupants dead, pieces of vessel found, Coast Guard announces

The U.S. Coast Guard offered their deepest condolences to the families of the passengers aboard a Titanic-exploring submersible after debris from the sub was found on the sea floor. The debris was “consistent with a catastrophic event” suffered by the pressure chamber of the sub. Jericka Duncan anchored CBS News’ special report.

  1. So how much money the the US go more into debt to rescue something that shouldnt have been there in the first place… the company should pay citizens of all countries back for the amount that was spent on it.

  2. my question, why was the titan controlled by a gaming controller? The company should pay the families of the people who went all of the money back, plus extra.

  3. I think some of you guys commenting should take a look at Air crash disasters and see just how often people fock up and this has been going on for years not a one-off event that involves a small number of people, and while you're at it take a look at the Apollo space program and the mistakes made there.

  4. Logically, how does one design a craft meant for deep water exploration and not account for the pressure that is created whilst under this water? This is the whole point of a deep water exploration vessel. It should have the ability to withstand exceeding pressure on a massive scale. Also logically one would say that said vessel should also be tested first. To the people of this reality, please try to use common sense and logic and a piece of advice… For the first little bits of time that this said vessel is in use, always have a contingency plan or a backup. Or surface support.

  5. Sorry for the loss. I have many things to comment on this event and the people but that can't bring their lives back. To you who reads this, be happy and grateful. Enjoy little things. Love your neighbor and forgive your enemies. Above all, worship the LORD our GOD. He wants you to follow Him and not this world.

  7. The resources invested in saving the lives of 5 people who willingly engaged in a totally unnecessary high risk activity, to the point of signing death wavers, were not justified. The lives of many more people could be saved by better medical and less costly medical treatments, better road markings and designs, car equipped with better safety measures. such as installing in all. existing cars rearview cameras or back up and before changinc lanes, better and quicker cleaning of icy roads, more beaches with lifeguards, etc. Because the fee for each passenges could be afforded by very wealthy people, in such future stiuations there should be some criteria to charge the estate of the people and warn them in advance. Not wealthy people who engage in such dancerous activities. when costs are too high (criteria to be decided by a existing panel of citizens appointed by lot), such people should not be rescued either. I mean, people die and no huge resources are invested to rescue them in Mount Everest because everyone knows the risks are high. The resources spent on the Titan rescue are irrational. Can only be explained by the fact those who died had money and friends in high places, and also by the media circus.

  8. The fact that the vessel had already been down a few times was a miracle each time, in itself. If you think about what the CEO and his staff created was actually pretty genius, but safety regulations are there for a reason.

  9. I couldn't understand the logic of searching an area "twice the size of Connecticut." Then it turned out that the tragedy occurred a distance from the Titanic wreckage equivalent to five city blocks away.

  10. They knew hours after launching sub it was lost. The Administration and Media drug this story out for whole week to dominate the news……instead of Biden Investigation. They heard the explosion.

  11. This is like a visit to a cemetery 🪦 under water with no proper safety equipments.
Ocean 🌊 doesn't forget, Ocean doesn't forgive. Let the dead rest, let titanic be. Deepest condolence to their families💌❤️
