  1. Former US President Barrack Obama has contrasted the media attention on the Titan sub with that given to the loss of 700 asylum seekers who died in near Pylos, Greece.
Obama was speaking at an event with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation where he pointed out the disparity.

You think about what’s happening this week. there’s a potential tragedy unfolding with a submarine that is getting, you know ,minute to minute coverage, all around the world And it’s understandable because we all want and pray for those folks to be rescued.
But the fact that’s got more attention than 700 people who sank is –- that’s an untenable situation.

Who cares they paid $250k for the thrill and risk of death… only reason it is getting all this attention is cause they were wealthy! Risk of death and the thrill drove them that was there own choice… let's not go overboard and feel sorry for them or there families.. 700 migrants drowned trying to create a better life for themselves and their families, and we are feeling sorry for 5 dead people who paid $250k for this thrill and risk of death.. Nonsense🙄 move on from this stroy

  2. It is shameful for humanity and all media outlets including you guys that this incident(which really was because of obvious disregard for safety standards & greed) gets so much media attention(mainly because they were billionaires) while last week hundreds refugees and migrants died in the deadliest shipwreck off the coast of Greece gets no media coverage or analysis.

    Shame on you all.

  3. That thing imploded 1 hour and 45 minutes into the journey that's why communication was lost. 3 auto fail-safes didn't happen that would automatically shoot them back to the surface. The hull was made of fiber glass and there's no way in hell fiber glass can stand that pressure.

  4. Ya I feel bad for a bunch of billionaires who fight tooth and nail to keep minimum wages low, or any other fucked up method to screw us up financially so we can suffer and so they can keep getting richer. Idgaf how insensitive it may feel to you guys but it’s hard to empathise and feel sensitive to a bunch of piece of shit billionaires who couldn’t care less about me or any other small potato.

  5. Humans in the deep ocean for take the resources and take all and after oh well we take advantage at the time.. who want to go there the rich because they do not have what else to do.. go and use your money for help the need the poor, educated people to have control of what we have in land and reproduce our own food.. but not, is more convinced for the rich to let peoole depend on them so is how they have business and money. But no they have to use all on them self like a selfish person, selfish rich person.. so now pay back all the money that was take for resources use for look for them.. if you love what you do is OK but you cover you own ass when take decisions… of course I pray for them but human can not be this selfish, let jump and see what happen anyway we can "buy" the world.. so now I will say, not even all the money can buy your own life.. sad.!!

  6. 1. Nobody is blaming Rush for innovation. They’re blaming him for taking money and putting innocent people at risk, misleading them who don’t know any better how safe it is.
    2. This did not happen in the name of exploration and discovery. The Titanic debris has been discovered, travelled to and documented on for many years. There was nothing risk-worthy vs reward about it. I get it, we must take risks to innovate. But this has been done before and even risk takers and inventors must use even a small amount of initiative to weigh up the options. In this case the dangers were screaming at them for years and they ignored it.
This was not taking risks, this was NEGLIGENCE.

  7. It's simply a NOVELTY, however; it's a 5-person capsule sinking down to the depth of the sea. People in that capsule can't see a damn thing, no window or glass bottom, ABYSS – A water GRAVE. Titanic sensational must keep SAFETY regulation in place.

  8. Hi Piers, I recommend watching a video by DALLYMYD. He has 13.4 million subscribers. He was a passenger on the Titan Mission 3 only 3 weeks prior to this implosion. Fascinating footage considering the circumstances.

  9. Democratising the depth my as*.

He compromised on safety and still took people down there. If he went himself, alone, no problem at all, but he took innocent civilians down there, without proper safety, people who trusted him and his "expertise". That is just ignorant and stupid. He is not a hero he is a risk taker, risking other peoples lifes in the chase of his own dream.

    0/10

Stockton = Shady person all around without no regards for anyone but himself.

  10. How the heck is a sightseeing tour in any way related to research the depths of the sea or green energy. Is there green energy in implosions? Romanticising rich peoples toys.
