  1. I feel you on the yarn waste of a gauge swatch. My trick for that is that I knit my swatch, then just temporarily bind of and don’t cut the yarn ball off. I’ll block my swatch in a breakfast bowl so I can count it and take a picture, and afterwards I’ll just unwind it and start knitting with some kinky yarn. Works like a charm for me.

Also I think for the flower socks, I think that first dusty pink you showed would be really nice with a sage green base. Or the warm brown base with aqua coloured flowers.

  2. I also never gauge swatch lol. Loving the way your Celeste is coming along. I originally didn’t see your vision when you first showed the colors, but I am super impressed with how beautiful it looks. As for the socks color combo, I prefer the second combo you showed with the higher contrast (the pale pink/creamy yarn with the brown). Best of luck to you as you work through your travel anxiety! I can relate. I’m going on a plane for the first time ever this year and know I’m going to be a distraught lol. Need to bring a good knitting project with me to distract myself.

  3. I alao never swatch. I usually try to ensure my yarn is similar to the pattern (e.g. also 100m per 50g etc). I don't think I've ever used fhe recommended yarm. Never had any real problems 😂

Your sweet sierra sweater is gorgeous.

  4. Hey ! Just wanted to say I also experienced really bad travel anxiety, especially after the pandemic and years of staying home. And it does get better ! I'm still a bit stressed when I have to go to the train station or the airport, but I can do it by myself and enjoy life !
Also I would go for the bigger contrast for the socks 🙂

  5. Sometimes I think we are the same person 😂 the first pair of colorwork socks I tried to knit were also checkerboard socks for my sister and my tension was also wrong so I gave up! And I also usually get very anxious when traveling, but I took the train this weekend for a little getaway and I was perfectly fine! Also, I love all the color combinations you showed for the Fiorellini socks 😄
