There are times these works better than any other baits I’ve used! It’s a little morsel to a big bass!

My Profile:
http://www.mattstefanfishing.com/
I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I’ve been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I’ve qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

When the fishing gets tough I dig out my 7'8" crappie rod with 4 pound line to toss the small stuff. Beatle Spins, small plastic minnow baits or even small spoons. Yep, you'll catch crappie, small bass but three and four pounders also. I'll take catching over fishing any day! My largest catch on tiny was just under six pounds on a Beatle Spin. It was a great outing.
The old 3” curly tail grub in monkey milk color on a 1/8 oz. Jig
To expand on the initial comments… I like that you are so well spoken and I find your videos pleasing to look at. Those little morsels sure look appealing to me. 😂
Love the Z Too!
I use those 3" Gulp Alive Minnows. Unfortunately, they keep changing the recipe for the product in the plastic bags. It used to resemble the gulp baits sold in jars in terms of consistency, but now it's more plasticky with less action and scent.
Crappie style baits are great for bass, but finding tiny hooks that aren't thin like for crappies is tough. Carp fishing hooks with a custom head mold is what i'd have to do get make the right jigheads to catch fish larger than crappies. I have had luck buying pre-rigged berkley baits like the 'power switch' just for the jigheads. They use a thicker wire and are weighted nicely. I just throw away the plastics and put on something more supple like a keitech
Free pro tips without politics. Love it. Been looking through videos from years back and they still help me today. Thanks Matt
Matt, I believe you have a number of bots/trolls in your comment section. Either that or you have some potential stalker types. At any rate, great info as always. Thanks. 👍🇺🇸
Goby Kenobi is so clever. 🤣🤣
I tell you a bait I catch a lot of bass on is Zman micro swimming bait folks thank it just good for panfish but it will catch you a lot of bass I catch bass from 14 Oz two 2 lbs on them
🍺Thanks Matt🤠.
Raid, keitech, and then I like the zman hula stickz as well. All in that 3”-4” size. …. A lot of the older fishermen by me fish a bobber with a small grub on a super light ball head. They target crappie but say they catch 4-6lb bass along with the crappie. That’s why I picked up the raid, keitech, and zman baits. My biggest bass this year was just under 3lbs and it came on the 3” keitech on a hover rig. Blew me away because I had been catching 1-1.25lb bass on a finesse jig. Made the switch after a lull and first fish was the almost 3 lber and the hover rig was buried deep in its mouth.
Matt, if you fished these mini baits on a bait finesse system bait caster what rod blank would you use to build a casting rod? I enjoy your videos.
I still throw the OG. Kalin’s 3” grub
Great video, thank you.
Thanks Matt
👍👍👍👍👍
Good video Matt 🤛
The gulp also works well on a 3 way rig for walleyes in the Spring on rivers. Whatever you use it for keep it wet or it dries like shoe leather and you need a knife To cut it off.
I use 1/16oz. And 1/8 oz . Marabou crappie jigs in white or yellow . Also the roadrunner can save the day when bass are chasing small minnows.
Thank you good stuff
Thanks again for the tips matt! Always looking forward to a new upload.
Great Great Video for Us bank fishermen. I use the gulp minnows in 1 inch and 2 1/2 inch. Catch blue gill crappie and small bass. Using 1/32 oz and 1/64 oz jig heads. So much fun. Little guys put up a fight. Thanks.
Another underrated JDM pin minnow imitator is a 2.5" Adusta Lancetic, especially when you need a more "erratic" / "darty" action.
I grew up fishing the Rebel minnow. It is about 1-5/8" long and I'd catch loads of bass on it fishing along the shoreline in the springtime.
Caught plenty of bass on 1/32 crappie jigs while dobbing brush in 3’ or less water. Even hooked big ones that tore my stuff up. 😂
I throw an original floating Rapala, F-7. silver with black back and have a little luck. Works well for largies, smallies, and nice sized bluegills.
Never ever underestimate the power of a Megabass 3" Hazedong. I would have thought that someone as tackle savvy as you would have discovered this bait. But it's not too late to check it out.
