The reason mobs won't spawn on your platform is because mobs don't spawn on slabs

Your mobs won't spawn because you placed slabs and also you can make wool from string
I think slabs prevent mob spawns! Try switching to using dirt instead!
"Mobs cannot spawn on blocks that are less than a full block in height. Areas covered in bottom slabs are unable to spawn mobs, no matter the light level, although double slabs, top slabs and upside-down stairs are still spawnable." – Minecraft Fandom Wiki

Island seeds are my absolute *favorite*! I literally don't start a new world until I've spent time hunting on chunkbase for a good island spawn.

I think that mobs aren't spawning on the platform because its made of slabs. Also you should use string to make wool to get a bed

Wattles my friend I am really starting to question your sanity 🤣😂. Of course the turtles have to be named Leonardo, Rafael, Michaelangelo and Donatello no question. You might want to put an umbrella over your beach chairs to repel the phantoms after night 3.
