  1. I'm also one where my first game of Millennia went rather badly. The realization for me was "I see, we're doing this oldschool" when it came to diplomacy. After more modern civs or Paradox games like Stellaris that let you be a weaker or more peaceful nation I tried to get away with an outdated deterrent force and paid the price as my allies turned on me shockingly quickly when they smelled blood. The empire building is AMAZING, I love the management aspect, and war feels like it struck a good balance between doomstacks and "your one best unit" tall play… but dealing with the AI was rough, especially when my "ally" walled my envoy off from its mission with units and then got pissy that, completely surrounded, I was stuck in their territory.. That was what killed me; I found the age of Plague fairly manageable by using improvement points to cleanse. Game 2 went much better.

  2. So what I have learned from this video is that the reviews for this game will likely age like those cup head videos by reviewers. You know, those videos where the reviewers weren't reading the instructions literally screen teaching you how to use the basic mechanics. Although, to be fair, reviewers on big outlets have always been awful at reviewing strategy games. It is one of those genres that really requires you to dig into the game, and big outlets don't have time to do that.

  3. nope , you can poo-poo the reviewers because they are DIE hires and they havent even played the game for 2-3 hours (most of them are too dumb to understand this type of games ,but that stays between us )

  4. Terra Invicta Lets play? yes please!
though I'd advise against a stream and instead for cutting the repetitive missions out.
the game writes really compelling stories, but it can still drag on a little…

  5. There is some things that are VERY disappointing. One is things talking about resources and buildings sometimes an age or two ahead of time. Second is the ships can not attack cities unless they are right next to the ocean. Really on the towers can shoot and one one space. I just do not like the lack of control for the combat and lack of real ranged attacks. Oddly you get cannons really early then I have not seen anything after that. I have also found some of the combat things to be pretty broken, like cavalry taking out tanks. The density of trees and hills make huge areas on the map near unpassable. I typically have to start over the game because I am locked into a worthless area at the start and can not do anything. Also even on the lowest level the AI has stronger units than you will have for some reason. You really have to go for really cheesy builds and difficulty just seems to effect how fast they research things and how friendly they are to you and almost nothing else. Chaos is brutal, but once you get money it is worthless. The game also does not let you go across the deeper oceans until at least 1-2 ages too long. The ability to use forced march to attack twice… and keep using it over and over while healing is pretty cheesy. Overall I would give it a C… the price of $40 makes it a C+… not bad, but it could be MUCH better. I wish they had mounted characters if you upgrade a mounted unit to a character. I hope they do something with the combat and difficulty and balanced a few things out… Like the Raider/Vassal run and cut the amount of woods and hills in half.

  6. I was just thinking about the integration costs…maybe the cost is higher for the cities that you took over from the computer controlled civs and lower for the ones that you created with a settler and took over from neutral civs. Meaning it is probably more difficult to integrate foreign cities into your empire as opposed to ones that your civ created itself or ones that were already there not part of any civ.
