Military ends rescue search for Navy SEALs lost in maritime raid on ship with Iranian weapons

The 10-day search to rescue two Navy SEALs lost in the Arabian Sea during a mission to board a ship and confiscate Iranian-made weapons has been ended and the sailors are now considered deceased, the U.S. military said Sunday.

In a statement, U.S. Central Command said the search has now been changed to a recovery effort. The names of the SEALs have not been released as family notifications continue.

Ships and aircraft from the U.S., Japan and Spain continuously searched more than 21,000 square miles, the military said, with assistance from the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center, the U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area Command, University of San Diego – Scripts Institute of Oceanography and the Office of Naval Research.

  2. Thank you to all the brave American taxpayers who fund a military that now hates you… all with money legally stolen from you at gunpoint, by a corrupt federal government being run by the senile head of a vast international criminal conspiracy and his son/bagman, all in defense of Israel's borders. All while the borders of your own country are being invaded by millions of economic terrorists from the south, and if you dare to suggest that they don't belong in the country you want to pass on to your kids, you will be called a bigot.

You are the true heroes of America no matter how much the media tells you the military are the real heroes.

  3. we pay taxes FOR THE MILITARY and therefore for the truth. who falls for this, they were obvi killed while raiding a ship & usa wants this conflict with zero military deaths on the news. plus "missing" buys time AND no body with bullet holes must be returned. what a lie our country prolly is. im out

  4. That's so sad, condolences to the family, friends and all who are affected by this devastating loss. I don't understand it- of course I support our service members with utmost respect. My Grandpa was a Navy vet too. I don't understand or believe in war, so to me this is a shame that they were sent on a dangerous mission like that. That's not right. May they rest in peace.

  5. These 2 men were shot dead and murdered by pirates the day the mission happened. This is the cover story. They don't want brave Americans signing up to know unarmored Somali pirates with ak47''s gunned down 2 of our bravest. It's is just plain bad optics and pr and will only hurt recruitment pipeline. Rouge wave is the cover story don't believe it for a second.

  7. In the spirit of Americas hero Donald tRump. Only losers get lost at sea, they were probably democrats so no real lost.

But in the real. These guys are class act and one gave their life for the other and both gave their life for a country tRump does not deserve to live in, much less have any authority or immunity.

  8. Terrible news.

    According to Navy SEAL Foundation:

“On the evening of Jan. 11, Chambers, 37, and Ingram, 27, both assigned to a West Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit, were reported missing at sea while they were conducting a night-time seizure of a vessel illegally transporting advanced lethal aid from Iran to resupply Houthi forces in Yemen.”
