Hello and welcome to this weird crevasse of the internet where we get really excited about music (particularly Taylor Swift) and break down our favourite albums and songs. Our names are Bonny and Emily, and our aim with these videos is to share our love for music and also share context and understanding around the songs, by highlighting breaking down the lyrics, melodies and production. We are so happy to have created this little community that is just as unhinged as us when it comes to music 🤪

  1. And… I'll continue my comment from your Midnight initial reaction video, lol! Again, love you guys and so grateful for this community you've created here on Youtube!

The Great War: This one was hard to decipher for me too, but I think it may just be referring to her struggles in life in general and how it felt like she was constantly in battle with herself and others…And then how they overcame it together! The lyric "broken and blue" reminds me of All Too Well ("Did the twin flame bruise paint you blue") Love the softer chorus melody as well!
Bigger Than the Whole Sky: Reminds of giving into depression, lying on the floor looking at the ceiling and crying so it's very heartbreaking but beautifully sung; the vocals sound like that inner monologue again. And YES, when you said that it sounds more like everyone has gone to sleep and she's just up reflecting (3 AM!!)
Paris: The VIBE! All I can think about is that time of twilight when the moon is out but it's still bright and the sky is pink and cloudy. The universe is definitely connected to you!
High Infidelity: OOf! This one is so vulnerable and and YES such Getaway car vibes, and I knew that date was significant so I'm so glad you pulled it up!!!! Im QUAKING!!!
Glitch: It sounds like she's singing to the moon, and no, I will not elaborate. And yes, I love it.
Would've, Could've, Should've: THAT CHORUS!!??! And yes, I agree it's hindsight about that age-gap in her relationship with John. And also the religious motifs throughout the song are so interesting!!
Dear Reader: I feel like with this one she's coming out of/ ending the reflection, like the sun is starting to rise, it's getting lighter out and the night is ending and she's finally tired of thinking all night. Again, yes to the "It's Time to Go" vibes!

    Thanks for reading!!

  2. ok but I really interpret "bigger than the whole sky" as being about a miscarriage? idk cause the vibes are not really romantic, and also because she speaks of a force that took the person away from her, (meaning there's no one to "blame"?) and also because she says she'll "never meet" (!!!!!) what shouldve been that person, AKA that person was never born in the first place. i hope it didnt happen to her and it was more of a folklore-y narrative type song, but i realllllyyy see it as mourning a child… (i find the vibe almost ronan-esque too!)

  3. For me, bigger than the whole sky, has been singing me through the recent death of someone I love deeply and how I will never know who they would have been as we grew older. I find myself pining about what could have been had they not died. And they were in fact, bigger than the whole sky.

  4. I love the fact that after every song y'all were like "i have no idea what she just said" and you guys are native english speakers, imagine us international swifties having to understand what blondie says and having to read the lyrics cause we have NO IDEA EITHER LMAOOO

  6. The fact that John Mayer was 32 when he dated Taylor at 19. And now Taylor is 32 and " Would've, Could've, Should've" is track 19 on 3am album 👀."
