I think it is time for you guys to do an episode on the USS Gerald Ford class Aircraft Carrier
Suggest you take a look at Deane Baker's Should We Ban Killer Robots.
My worst fear is weaponized self-driving cars
In my opinion, we must NEVER let an AI drone or other militairy apparatusus, making the desicion to KILL someone!! That decision ALWAYS have lay in the hands of the operators!
And there's another vèry important thing: No matter how far the development of AI will go, we, humans, ALWAYS have to have the possibility to OVERRULE the AI machine!! Literally!!
If we don't do that, we finally will be destroyed by AI!!
Ahh yes man made horrors beyond my comprehension
You and your team have one heck of a channel. Whenever I want understandable technical info delivered by a man that makes it fun to be scared and disturbed…well Simon, you are the first person that comes to mind! 🖖
Of course birds are real.
It's the squirrels you have to watch out for.
Wait, so my birds are ANIMALS??! No way! I guess that's why they keep eating the food we put out for them 😂
Those hummingbird drones have a problem: hummingbirds are only found in the Americas. If they're going for stealth, that, pardon the pun, won't fly.
Also… The danger of having less need for manpower and ability to give fewer persons the tools to wage wars is dangerous. It makes the gap between the haves and have nots bigger. Great video! +1+1+1+1++1
AS terrifying as this is __ if the bad guys have them __ you better have them too.
Aren't land mines effective machines killing humans?
No one suspects the butterfly. 🤣🤣🤣
A suggestion for a future episode: IBM Mainframes – the most complicated single machines created by mankind and how most of the world's critical IT functions still run on them.
Machines don't make decisions. They follow parameters that have been programmed into them.
BIRDS ARE REAL DAMNIT
Wow, makes you think
If machines were to get to a point where they operate independently, how does a combatant surrender to a machine?
Wheres your tinfoil hat Simon? The government would NEVER spy on us. 😆
Birds are not real, they used to be but the government replaced all the birds with spy drones, when was the last time you saw a baby or dead pigeon?
Man is the master, the machine the servant. Wise words from nearly a century ago by Robert Semple and something we should remember when doing these sorts of things…
“Apparently they are not satisfied with 1000 ppl American police kill every year”…that is seriously good writing! And that’s why I subscribe 😊
Arming or not, drones are becoming ineffective and useless in large-scale long-period conflicts. In the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, belligerents used different types of drones from various manufacturers. Ukraine operated Turkish drones, and Russians operated Iranian ones. Nowadays, no one speaks about drones in that war. According to the latest rumors, Ukraine was requested German leopard tanks and fighting jets from NATO allies.
Honestly, I would rather have an armed, fully automated robot cop than a human cop (or human operated one). At least the bot won't fear for its life when I'm running away and shoot me thirty times in the back.
New: Friendly-Fire Autonomous Micro-drones
That development should spark new interest in the annual Army-Navy game!
We're living in a Black Mirror episode, boys.
I didn't know you were a sheep 🐑 Simon! Birds aren't real
drones explain the ufo sightings in the 60,s imo did the mil have iradio's then?
Maybe one day the birds really wont be real.
My dad said that life is constantly becoming a lazy version of a science fiction novel.
Just watch the Terminator, it is inevitable!
By no means am I saying birds aren't real, but there's a good chance that a micropercentage of them are(were, now that we all have cell phones) fake. Like ofcourse the government experimented with this technology long before public release, that's what they do.
Given the current US statistics for trigger-happy police, I take my chances with the robot.
I don't know but land and sea mines have been making the decision to kill for a long time.
