Michael Romeo – "Divide & Conquer" arpeggio solo section (WITH TABS!)

War of the Worlds, Pt. 2 is the third solo album by Symphony X guitarist Michael Romeo, released on 25 March 2022 via Inside Out Music. It is a sequel to his previous album released in 2018, War of the Worlds, Pt. 1. It was originally scheduled for a February 4, 2022 release.

Sweep picking is a guitar technique where you rapidly sweep the guitar pick across multiple strings to play arpeggios. When sweep picking, the guitarist plays single notes on consecutive strings with a ‘sweeping’ motion of the pick, while using the fretting hand to produce a specific series of notes that are fast and fluid in sound.
Feel free to slow it down and try to play along with the video.
How to Develop Good Sweep Picking Skills –
There are three steps to learning sweep picking.
1. You need to develop good picking accuracy.
2. You need to work on syncing both hands with good coordination.
3. You should work on building up your speed.
Things to remember:
Good timing-cooperation of both hands. Smooth movements of the fret hands, Get the fretting hand sorted first, so you don’t have to look at it, that way you can focus on the sweep motion. Aim to keep your hand relaxed and make the sweep motion smooth, even and sweep’ through the strings. Once you have the technique right, do it many times very slowly, and gradually increase speed. You’ll find that once you have done it enough times very slowly, the muscle memory will work properly and you’ll be able to sweep effortlessly. The fret hand is doing the muting…not the picking hand.
