Michael Knowles Reminds Us That Religious Theocracy Is Conservatism’s Goal

Daily Wire pundit Michael Knowles claims that liberals fear politicians that believe in God because they think that will cause those politicians to “…do all manner of terrible things.” Knowles disputes the idea of Divine Right Monarchs being considered tyrants: “…that isn’t true. the idea of Divine Right Monarchy is, actually, that there is a limit on the power of the monarch.”

  1. There is no conservative party, they are a domestic terrorist front as defined- Domestic terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.

  2. The Divine Right of Kings carries with it the idea that "The King can do no wrong." The King can do no wrong because he is the Representative of God on earth. We still adhere to this concept today in the US demonstrated by not holding the President accountable to the law.

  3. If they want a theocracy, then I vote for The Great Green Arkleseizure (THHGTTG), He is the creator of the universe, as claimed by adherents of the faith on planet Viltvodle VI. The Jatravartids of this faith believe that the Universe was sneezed out of the Great Green Arkleseizure's nose. Bless you.

  4. Michael Knowles is so ignorant. He should read "The God Delusion" (Richard Dawkins) and "God is Not Great" (Christopher Hitchens) before he starts pontificating about whether or not God-fearing folk act better than atheists. Atheists win hands down. If you want to see religion treated in a real way, subject to critical analysis and objective facts, then see any of the numerous religious debates on YouTube involving the late Christopher Hitchens.

  6. It’s always the same nebulous BULLSHIT with these people – never facts, never empirical data. It’s always just ‘if you think the GOD-FEARING politicians are bad…trust me…the secular one are WAY worse. Take my WORD for it’.

And the idiots with no critical thinking…the reactionary dim-wits fall in line.

  7. Can we have more of Yale graduates talking about “God” and how “He” is “more important than a king”… Jesus, someone give Michael Knowles another fairytale to read, he’s obsessed with this one!

  8. Arguing about current events with religion is a fools game. You will lose everytime. Simply because religions (all) are false. If you are religious and follow your respective text to the letter you are a theocrat.

  9. Right. Accountability to God is all that matters.

That's why when we find a murder being committed we tell the perpetrator that he will burn in hell then we let him go.

That's why all the prisons have been emptied and shuttered. God will take care of it!

    …his audience is… low IQ

  10. While Knowles attempts to fear-monger with the threat of politicians with out the constraint of God, I’m still waiting for any Republican theocrat to show grace or restraint WITH the alleged constraint of God.

  11. We'll get "wrath", or "gluttony", or "lust" maybe? As if Trump hasn't done any of this, and is now threatening Retribution if he's elected again. I suppose we shouldn't expect Knowles to know history when he has an Imaginary Friend.

  12. The imposture must be wearing at least a little thin from the publicity their openly Christian Nationalist allies get. How many people still have not heard of “the Seven Mountain Mandate” even if only by another name?

  13. Okay, quick summary from an English guy who loves history. Henry VIII, wanted to divorce his first wife to marry Anne Boleyn, amongst other things, so cut England free from the rule of the pope. What insurance became known as the Henry VIII laws, IE the divine right of kings. His son took over died young, so his eldest sister Mary I took the throne. Now, upon leaving the pope and the papacy England, and became a Protestant nation. Mary was a Catholic & she decided to purge Protestants from the Royal chambers & parliament. Hence the nickname Bloody Mary. Her sister Elizabeth I took the throne after and was Protestant & made many anti-catholic laws. When she died with no children, James VI of Scotland took the English throne (unification came 100 years later) & James I was the target of the gun power plot. His son, Charles I was the one who became so destructive coast, England to split and have a civil war against the Royalists and parliament. Parliament one which caused Charles to be beheaded. There was a period were England was a republic that ended quickly and his son Charles II took the throne and ruled as a protestant or died on his deathbed converting to Catholicism. Now, his brother, James II took the phone afterwards, and was said to be the last ever tyrant King of England. His reign ended with him being overthrown by William of orange, who was Protestant. It was after this time that a law was passed banning any monarch been a Catholic this still stands today. So Charles III, cannot be a Catholic.

  14. Yeah, that claim about ‘libs’ is patently absurd. The mainstream of liberalism is the old mainline of Protestantism: Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Lutherans, and so on.

It might shock today’s so-called ‘Evangelicals’ but Martin Luther King was a Baptist — and it was Puritan (and for a time Baptist) Roger Williams who founded the Rhode Island Colony on the principle of separation of church and state.

I would say that the conservative movement is only secondarily religious, the oligarchs viewing that line as means to the end of tyranny rather than the end itself. They will do all they can to defeat religious doctrine opposed to their dictatorship.

  15. Hmm the republicans claim to be Christian but show other wise by cutting needed programs just to give the already rich aholes more at our expense! Christ said he will judge those that doesn't help the poor but yet the republicans want to cut from the poor to give to the rich. So they don't care about God, they don't care about hell, or they would fight for the poor, the sick or the most in need, but they don't they fight against those people. So where is their godly sense and wanting to help those with need?! It's just more proof of what they are, a bunch of fakes hypocrites and liars!!!!

  16. The Democrats hatred for Christian voters (which is 80% of the country) never ceases to amaze me. If you want to alienate a huge voting base by calling them all racists and bigots, then Sam Seder, Kyle Kulinski, Cenk Uygur and Bill Maher are your guys.

  17. I wonder if those IDIOTS who thought up the "Divine Right of Kings" ever thought, with that kind of edict any weaselly lying Narcissistic Jerk-off who claims god speaks to them could justify a similar claim and just say god gave me the Divine Right of REGICIDE!! .Hey! Mr Knowles we don't have to fear what politicians who fear god will do, because we've read his manual and he makes SATAN look tame!! And because god only talks to assholes!!

  18. religion is the worst thing that has ever happened to humanity. Anyone that is religious at all should be banned from holding public office. It's 2023 and absolutely every part of every religion has been disproven a long time ago. We need to deal with the actual world that actually exists. Most "religious" people in this country know for a fact that it is all bullshit, they just will never admit it to themselves. It's so pathetic that we cater to these whack jobs.
