I feel like metroidvanias only come in Pretty Shit and Absolutely Amazing flavours, nothing in between. The last two entries were no big surprise, then xD . Can't wait for either ð .
I am SO excited for blasphemous 2. loved and completely 100%ed the first one. (not including all achievements just every boss, every item etc)
Great list. I am a slightly more hyped for Blasphemous 2 in comparison to The last faith but both games are a must buy. Still waiting for some updates regarding Survivor. Hope it will still come. The Trailer was awesome and haven't heard anything for a long time.
Ultros, Emberbane, Cookie Cutter, Being and Becoming, Mariachi Legends, Bo, Laika, Crypt Custodian, Tevi, The Last Faith and obviously Blasphemous 2 all look incredible. Can't wait !!

A lot of these got my attention like Rune Fencer
Japanese making a metroidvania with Mexican culture, and Mexicans making a metroidvania with Evangelion's theme. Loving this.
The last faith and Blasphemous 2 are my highlights for sure this year. Aside from Armored Core 6 there aren't any triple A titles that interest me so i'm very happy to hear that those 2 will release this year.
Next year i hope for Silksong and Crowsworn.

Yo Clemmy? Now, you know I love when you talk smack about certain developers, or games, and Iâd never disrespect the king in front of all his subjects, but have you not played the demo for Minishoot adventures yet?! Because it almost sounded like you werenât all that psyched.
(Just skip to the end if you donât want to wade through my usual novel-length bullshit)
There are a few things I just canât stand for, even when it comes straight from his majestyâs sacred mouth hole!
This includes, but is not limited toâŠ
-Talking shit about cats (which is by far, the most egregious offense, and the only thing that would force me to walk! Luckily this hasnât been an issue so far, and hopefully it never will.)
-Badmouthing any of the greatest punk bands between the early 80âs and late 90âs, but since 95% of them still remain relatively unknown, I canât imagine this ever becoming an issue (Just a quick FYI, bands like âsimple planâ, âgood charlotteâ, and all other âcookie-cutter, boy-bandâ related knockoffs remain fair game for shit talk, as they are neither âgoodâ, or âpunkâ!
The manual clearly states that any band, or band members, who willingly partake in synchronized stage moves, such as jumps, or douche-chilling fist-pumps during a lame chorus, are forever banned from claiming any, and all future benefits of punk membership! This also includes being denied access to any of the nationwide gas station sinks used to wash your socks in (which has to be the hardest part, as thatâs commonly referred to as âthe sweetest plumâ)
And last, but certainly not least, is any trash talk about the upcoming Minishoot Adventures! You havenât done this yet, but I implore you, you must go play the demo as soon as possible, because itâs more âZeldaâ than any Nintendo released Zelda in many, many years! Itâs definitely in my top 5 most anticipated games coming, and I think Iâm supposed to be on the first round of play testing for the alpha, or Beta maybe. So Iâll definitely let you know if it disappoints in any way (but I highly doubt that being a possibility)
Oh, and I just got an email from âthe last faithâ team, and the play test is coming soon, so Iâll keep you in the loop.
If anyone is looking for a really good, and really difficult metroidvania to tide them over, Betrayer: Curse of the spine will be looked back on as one of those hidden gems that everyone will love, but nobody will have heard of.
The only reason Iâm going to keep pushing this game until the day I drop dead, is because the developer said he wants to add more content to it, but he needs about 2000 more sales to be able to work on it full time again. But donât think of this as anything other than me suggesting a great game, Iâm not dishonest, and would never screw anyone over by suggesting a crappy game even if it was a good friend. I donât know the developers, and have never even talked to them about this, I just want to see good developers be rewarded for their hard work! And just in case I wasnât clear enough about how good it is, Iâll make it even more clear⊠if this came out on the snes next to Super Metroid, I would have a hard time choosing between the two (SM would probably still win, but it wouldnât be by a landslide).
I watched an anime years ago called El Cazador de la Bruja that took place in Mexico, so I'm not surprised that a Japanese made game would feature Mexican culture.
mariachi legends, prince of Persia,ebenezer and the invisible world,spirit of the samurai, the last faith and blasphemous 2. look fantastic. im going to try and buy them.
The Spirit of Samurai announcement was every interesting during the showcase.

Being & Becoming has the same pixel appearance as 9 Years of Shadow.
Mariachi Legends looks so good. It's Blasphemous mixed with Guacamelee.
Out of all these Blasphemous 2 is my most anticipated one by far. Dark, gothic, violent, & high quality 2D artstyle.
Second would be The Last Faith.

I don't find the animation choice appealing at all for The Spirit of the Samurai. Most times even if I personally don't like it, I can understand why others would. But not this game. Can someone who does explain it to me? It just looks like its lagging to me.

lol, "The Baby Alien Thing" in Spirit of the Samurai is a Kodoma spirit. A Forest Spirit in Japanese Mythology.
