  1. Best thrash band ever? Cardi B., of course.

Out of the songs provided here, I have to go with Metallica for this contest. "A Tout Le Monde" is an alright song, but it simply isn't the iconic masterpiece that NEM has become–though the duet version with Cristina Scabbia (of Lacuna Coil) is pretty good.

In general, however, I prefer to listen to Megadeth. The diversity they create from album to album is insane. While there's always a thrash basis, Dave has broken out of that mold so many times–in great ways–where Metallica has mostly stuck to a slightly more formulaic pattern. Of course any band will change over the course of 40 years, but 'Deth feels like they've taken more chances that actually worked, whereas when Metallica tried to break out of their proverbial box they were panned. As they say, the higher you climb, the farther you have to fall.

  2. Sorry bro. You are way too high. Megadeth is the winner, hands down. Dave was involved in many of Metallicas best songs and kept it heavy way, way longer than the sellout years that Metallica entered beginning with the black album. But by all means keep hitting that wap juice! Lol

  3. I prefer Metallica to Megadeth, but Megadeth has more better albums then Metallica simply because Dave is more prolific. But i do like the last couple of Metallica albums more then the last couple of Megadeth albums. Mostly because I dislike the midern production of Megsdeths last 2 albums. Dave has those same fixed in the studio vocals that Ozzy has. I honestly felt the last Megadeth album was just a guitar wank fest. Where as James vocals sound better now then in the 90s. Metallicas production is better, after the shitty Death Magnetic production, but Metallica needs to stop making long, bloated albums/songs that keep me from repeat listens

  4. Honestly i prefeer you to gives thoose first songs to Megadeth, but definetivily no way any song in trash metal History can beat Metaliica's Master of Puppetes.. but i respect it..Tornado of Soul is a great song and has a better guitar solo by far!!!

  5. As a kid I would've said Metallica. These days I like modern Megadeth much more than modern Metallica. But both have some great stuff. It is possible to love both, contrary to popular belief in 2024.

  6. Let’s be real Metallica fell off after the black album and megadeth stayed somewhat consistent. I mean just look at both bands most recent albums. Megadeths out preforms nowadays

  7. Metallica has:
    Kill ‘em All
    Ride the Lighting
    Master of Puppets
    Black Album

    Megadeth has:
    Rust in Peace

To any random Megadeth fan who comes to mention any other album: they might be good, but not in the level of Rust in Peace

  8. Well firstly, you can't go wrong with either, it's like deciding which of your balls you like better. Both have multiple great albums and tons of great songs, so the question of who has better songs really becomes more a matter of choice. The difference to me is in the construction of the music, and mostly the guitar work. The rhythm guitar for both bands is outstanding, Dave and James are both absolute monsters. The difference is the lead play. While Kirk has written some nice solos, he keeps it relatively simple. The usual scales/picking and the ever present Wah. I prefer the more exotic and complex solos done by the various Megadeth guys, Marty in particular. Ashes in Your Mouth is one of my fav songs and has a killer solo.
