  1. Thankfully almost an hour into the interview, they decide to ask something other than how James feels and his life philosophies. I don't think it's bad to ask him questions on this, but so much more could have been covered over this amount of time. The Rob interview is a perfect example.

  2. Respect James and the rest of the band so much. I couldn’t imagine the pressure on these guys for the last decades, they’ve dealt with it admirably and openly. I enjoy seeing their growth as people and as a band. Just my two cents worth. Even if they never played another note, I couldn’t be more thankful for everything.

  3. James has provided a lot of the soundtrack of my life. But I didn't view this album as raw at all. This feels very painstakingly put together(not saying that's a bad thing). Other than his vocals in some points, there was some stuff i've never heard from him before.

  4. One of these days, we will all look back on these days and feel privelaged to have been around and growing up with Metallica being around. Just like we cant go back and see Jimi Hendrix in concert, some day kids will wish they could have been alive during these years to have been apart of the Metallica journey.

  5. 14:41 dear interviewer, i appreciate what you do, but my goodness if you are going to ramble on a question and take 1 minute 30 seconds before james can speak, please mic yourself up next time 😅

  6. I find it such a dichotomy that so many people accuse him and Lars of being greedy(I.e. selfish).
Yet he speaks of being selfish in terms of writing for themselves, at the end of this something about being selfish about his hopes for the future.
I don't see greed in this man at all.
Unfortunately, I share a lot of the same mental hang ups(as do a lot of people, I'm not saying 'poor me'), and it's just surreal to see someone as accomplished as him feeling that. All his accomplishments and earnings didn't clear his head of that.
It's ballsy to admit that publicly, and seek mental help and rehab without trying to hide it.

  7. Damn. I bet it would be great to hear James's thoughts vs. this awful interviewer force feeding what he wants to hear from him.

Please hire people that actually know how to interview.

I couldn't finish this. absolute trash questions.

Mad respect Poppa Het… love your work, but dude… never interview with this guy on video again.

  8. I think they've done "In the round" gigs pretty good. I saw them at Earls Court London in the 90s and they pulled it off with roadies falling from the light rigging, explosions and garage section. Will be exciting to see what they come up with next 🤘

  9. Finally get to hear from the legend himself… James has been and will be my favorite guitarist and songwriter!!! I really hope one day I can meet him in person and tell him how much he has meant to me and my life. Thank you James for my life.

  10. Thank you for sharing. I hold Metallica as my life calendar. I first heard and then bought the Creeping Death 12” vinyl.
Saw the MOP tour with Cliff in ‘86. I formed a band and took Metallica as our main influence. Fast forward 30 + years. I’m still in debt to James as a lyricist and guitarist. 🤘

  12. We all know this is the God of Metal, and he's sitting over there with his nice low voice and pretending he's a human. But man, he feels SO human. He feels like he borrowed some words from his sobriety group, and like he's clinging to some cliches so that he continue what he can do best. Yet you can hear him here and there, still this old voice of our MASTER, now being humbled by his life experience and by getting old, sticking to a new life philosophy because he still wants to live.

This is a long road from the menacing guy that looked us from the Black album stage, even longer from the rebellious kid before that, or even the pompous dude in his 40's later on.

I love him, I love Metallica, being able to live the meaningful part of life with them around is great. Being able to relate to their songs and lyrics, and James voice, is a life experience like no other, has been like no other ever since I've heard of them, and sadly this was late in my life, as back in the 80's this was not something you could hear in my country.

And I know this, my "inner Metallica world", is something I share with millions of people worldwide.

Been a great ride, let's hope it would be a long one.

I would be able to rewatch this countless times! Been a fan for 23 plus years and this one has brought me to tears in my eyes! I just love everything related to him and this magnificent band! Het Pappa 4EVER!!!! Thank you for your words and feelings you shared with the fans! My love and best wishes!🎸🤘💜👏
