This is Round 1 of the Animal Colosseum Beast Wars, a tournament featuring 8 decks from the 5th theme booster of the Digimon Card Game: Animal Colosseum. The first two decks to clash are MetalEtemon and HeavyLeomon. The Black/Yellow Etemon/Sukamon deck has received massive support in EX5 including their first SR MetalEtemon which greatly enhances the deck’s consistency in pulling off its recent powerful Security shenanigans without having to rely on luck. Using a combination of forced attacks, Security rigging and attack redirection, they can force the opponent to play into their hands – whether it’s allowing them to flood the field to end the game next turn, creating an impenetrable wall of poop and monkeys or weakening the opponent’s field presence. On the other hand, the Green base Leomon deck remains loyal to the Leomon’s tribe signature [On Delete] effects, taking their effectiveness further with more powerful and varied [On Deletes] that draw from Black and Yellow, as well as Indomitable, a new keyword that allows the brave lions to keep returning to the battlefield. Which animal will dominate in the first round of this brand new tournament? It’s monkeys vs lions!
