Metal School – 5 GERMAN ’80s Metal Bands With Only ONE Album

I’ve picked out five awesome German heavy metal bands from the ’80s that unfortunately only managed to release one studio album. I can just about guarantee you haven’t heard all five of these, so settle in and check ’em out! Believe me, you’ll want to stick around through all five. There are some pretty amazing albums here that I’m dying to share with you all.

  1. Bad Steve with former Accept members Jan Koemmet on guitar, Frank Friedrich on drums and Dieter "Rubi" Rubach on bass could be on that list. They only released Killing The Night.

There were a couple of other German bands with only one release. Sweet Cheater – Immortal Instant. They turned into the band Secrecy. The other band I remember are Wildcat – Love Attack. They also changed their name afterwards

  2. Bought the Saint's Anger lp back in the day. Great album.
Two recommended killer bands with just one album :
    Biscaya from Sweden 1983
Headhunter ( ex Krokus and Killer ) from Switzerland 1985

  3. Hoped for a Hammerschmitt mention and wasn't dissapointed. This sole album is in my personal Top 05. Everything is perfect, vocals, riffs, energy, production. If you don't know this album, make yourself a favor and listen to it RIGHT NOW!

  4. All these albums are classics. (I'm still awaiting a reissue of that Airwolf though.)
If there's another volume of this, I'd like to see included… Stormwind, Six Point Six, Rough, Breaker, Overdose (both of them), Invader, Mad Axeman, Axe Victims, Square and Bloody Climax.
    Love your work!

  5. You do some great and informative videos on bands that definitely deserve much more exposure then they got back in the day, thank you.
If I may I'd like to suggest a few names for possible future vids.
    1. TANK, and amazingly heavy and unsung band.
    2. STILLBORN, most assuredly an awesomely heavy band that deserves a vid.
    3. KILLER, a juggernaut from Belgium that although have released several albums have for the most part gone unmentioned (in the US at least).
Thanks again for the great vids on Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol, Loudness, Metal Church and so many other great bands you've covered on your channel.

Some Christian Metal(I think), Whitecross,Petra,Holy Soldier and some more I can't remember now.

  7. Thank you very much for these fantastic Pick's. Fortunately I have one of the Albums (Forced Entry), that i have recveived as a gift for a order by the Mailorder EMP many years ago.
Keep on digging and showing those forgotten Masterpieces of Metal.

  8. I didn't pay attention to the title of this video. I just assumed that helloween would be in this list. Then I realized that it was metal bands with just 1 album.
Such a shame they didn't release more albums. European metal is the best metal out there!

  9. Tanks for the compilation. That made me order the Saint 's Anger Album today. 🤘It reminds me of the early days of Accept. I am glad that today there are still bands with that vibe e. g. Enforcer!

  10. Cool video. There were sooooo many bands trying to cash in on the urge of 80s metal. The clean vocals were about to become extinct in the next decade. Unless you wre already an established metal band, you werent going to exactly make a true historic mark in metal with these types of vocals in my opinion

  11. You forgot Final Prophecy! They even played as an opening act for Metallica in Germany. Once, I had a Gibson '76 Explorer from one of them via a guitar shop where it was for sale.

  12. I don't know if they're as obscure but I'm gonna have to recommend Dark Avenger. They were on the Death Metal split with Helloween, Running Wild and Hellhammer, but broke up a few years later and never reached the level of influence and legacy the other three bands did. Absolutely killer stuff though.

  13. on one hand its always sad to learn about guys only putting out one album and then dissapearing, but i wonder how many did other projects or stayed in the music biz as producers, studio musicians etc. All in all another great lesson shining some light on deserved musicians.
