Keith the Mercedes C250 S205 doesnt get much attention on the channel as the car is always just being used for busy things, but I needed the add some rear seat USBs, hardwire and dash cam power supply and replace a tatty trim panel. Its had new tyres and a service too…

I've got an Orskey dashcam hardwired into my car, but I find it inteferes with the FM radio signal so I only occasionally manage to get any channels working, which is highly irritating.
Oooh 205 content
0:53 Could have called it Mayweather!!! 😂😂😂
Good work, Matt,
Similar with the silver bezel on her mini – marked/scratched – for temperature and control indication, which annoyed her hugely.
This one just removed, resprayed and replaced it for her.
Better finish than the car come out of the factory, me thinks.
On my old W211 the dash cam pulsed on the front socket and had to add an extension to the rear cigarette socket with no problem? Strange? Keep up the good work Matt.
Maybe the amperage is not sufficient for the camera?
So sick of see a mug in your hand or near you. Dose not make anyone won't one sorry
In the Netherlands, you can legally have a mix of all season / winter / summer tires. as long as they are the same per axle. Would I recommend it? Nah not really 😛
Using all seasons for the daily driver is a good choice, especially when combined with common sense.
The rears being more expensive, I know. Just look at my 355/30 19's 😛
Could it be that the added USB power supply to the rea is interfering with the dashcam?
One thing about those suction cup dashcams is, that if they fall off when the car is unattended, they can set off your alarm. It's only happened a couple of times with me. You can turn off the internal movement sensor in the Merc but it resets every time you drive the car again. It's not something you want to keep doing either.
well this is really good timing as i pick up my (new to me) C205 on Saturday and will be looking to install dash cam. I also agree smoking is cars is disgusting, and I smoke on/off
Matt been watching you some years now and is first time I’ve doubted a video of yours ? Be honest ? Was this filmed in South of France 🇫🇷🤔 ? Sunshine ☀️, No rain 🌧, No wind 💨 and 90% positive outcome on work 😁, has to be PHOTOGRAPHIC TRICKERY of some kind 😂😂👌🏻.
Put in a claim to KCC for your tyre.
You may have to spend some hours to find the form but it should be there.
Always good to get a few smaller jobs done. Very satisfying!
Nobody sane would ever buy one of those Mercs with a manual gearbox, which is why you can't find one.
You might want to try updating the dashcam’s firmware. It might help
Don't like automatics ?? Really ??? Well I never knew that !!
The camera issue maybe down to it having a very low battery, try charging it with a phone charger for a couple of hours.
Being a bit dyslexic I struggle with some private plates and whilst I obviously understand FD for Furious Driving, I can’t get the relevance of the 05 and the BCV?
Dashcams should be banned most of the people who use them are actually the problem on the road themselves and think just by recording others they are in the right. Cant stand them just as bad the idiot cyclists with cameras on their head who still ride through red lights or cut onto the pavement to skip lights
I honestly thought you'd have to take this to the dealership or a specialist garage for tasks like this, as simple as they seem, given the newness of this car and all the high tech in it.
👍🏴
We have a dash cam that powers off after a minute and looking online it says its cause the memory card is full. Maybe yours is the same?
It was nice to meet Keith, he looks great.
I was surprised at how straightforward that appeared to be, given that Keith is a modern, highly sophisticated design.
Well done Matt, I would have been scared of either breaking something, or rendering the car inoperable❤.
Low profile tyres and potholes are not happy bedfellows, time that manufacturers that sell in UK realised this. We have never had billiard table smooth roads apart from the post war concrete very noisy ones, at least they got fewer holes unless they had been dug up and badly filled. Potholes were common in the 60's but councils filled them properly in a week or less. 5 or 6 Council workers only 2 actually doing anything, one making tea.
My 2020 W205 has USBs in that location in the rear from factory in a little fold down compartment. My mate’s 2018 car doesnt. It’s almost as if Mercedes realised they’d overlooked them!
Is the permanent live supposed to be a low power line for the leds in the power socket? If that's the case, the camera might be pulling too much from this line and the supply could be turning on and off as a current limiting mode.
I could be talking b-s*it though.
Wow mat. A car that just does everything you want it to. This is a new concept to me what no laying down on wet ground tinkering 🤔 I need to have a sit down and contemplate this new ideology.🤣🤣🤣🚙🚐🛻🚗👍
What an incredibly dull car, sounds expensive to run also. I would have thought an Octavia Combi VRS would be a better choice.
Got to love the alphabet soup that you get with modern model names! Also feeling the pain with front tyres; just had mine replaced (had a bulge in one and a tear in the other) after only six months of use!
Matt, I had the same on/off issue with the Nextbase cam in my e class. I was running from the boot auxiliary socket with a wire through the car. The USB cigar adapter wasn't providing enough power – swapped for a 24w 12v adapter and all good.
This car is like my SAAB, doesn't need any work just keeps going. Its awesome having a car you can just get in and feel like you can drive around the world without fault
So let me get this straight.. The W is a sedan and the S is a wagon? Yea?
What?
Brilliant little tinkering video on Keith the Mercedes.
Some tinkerng on Kieth l do hope you sort the dashcam out
Did u use the tea shelf?
Maybe I am wrong but shouldn’t you need to replace all 4 tyres at the same time since it’s a 4WD? That can usually ruin the gearbox…
Nice work Matt
Call me thick but why couldn’t you connect it to the interior light?
Lo Matt, nice to see the Merc. Gonna make a wee comment. I never touch auto electrics. Did a couple of things in the past learned the lesson. No touchee car electrics. Later.😂
You could use the switched live from the OBD diagnostic port, usually at the front of the car?
Arent you supposed to change all 4 tyres at the same time on a 4 wheel drive?
Good looking estate not much can touch it for reliability and economy worth maintaining as itl retain more of its value
As for the service history I’d would not be bothered about having it updated on the star system a proper paper book or invoice is far more useful
good job Matt
Claim the cost of tyre repair from the local council responsible for the road the damage occurred
Get rid of it ASAP
It's a very nice looking car
Which is the most modified car you've ever owned? I'm talking fast car magazine days! And what were the mods?
I went from an auto S204 C250 to a manual Skoda Octavia VRS TFSi 245 I highly recommend it for the driver involvement
