Menendez Brothers’ Lawyer Mark Geragos on Their Potential Release (Exclusive)

ET speaks with the Menendez brothers’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, about the potential of Lyle and Erik’s release from prison. Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón announced that his office is reviewing new evidence of Lyle and Erik’s alleged sexual abuse, which could lead to a resentencing in their murder convictions for the death of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez. Geragos also addresses whether the release of Ryan Murphy’s fictional portrayal of the sensational murder case, ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez story,’ has hurt or helped his clients.

  1. Spoiled brats making up stories. What wouldn’t you say as a sociopath to walk free?

Why didn’t they mention the abuse to their therapist? Confess to blowing their parents brains out, a MONUMENTAL confession. Yet, they don’t admit the “real” reason why? Telling the therapist that they killed their mother as a mercy? Because she was depressed taking pills and drinking after finding out of the fathers affair. That’s oddly specific for a “lie” after a ginormous – incriminating truth.

Mind you, all of this comes after their father threatens to cut them from his will. Then after killing their parents they devote all of their time to finding it..

THEN! They go on huge shopping spree. Buying themselves a Porsche and throwing lavish parties. Let’s say they were sexually abused, and that they were ACTUALLY scared of their parents who were sitting on the couch watching tv, shoving a shotgun into your mothers cheek and blowing her head off is horrific, regardless of the reason. Then they party in the same home they brutally murdered their parents in?

Why not just walk away? They were both adults. Why not just pack up and never turn back?

They are spoiled brats! Think about it, money got them out of everything rotten and awful they did growing up. Cheating at Yale, daddy buys you a pass, robbing other peoples homes, daddy buys you a pass. How many passes had they received throughout their entire lives? They were so dissociated with real life. Consequences didn’t exist.

They deserve to be in prison for the rest of their lives.

  2. DA is reviewing material only because up for re-election. I think they felt pressured to at least announce they are looking over it. It’s something that takes a lot of time as jury sentences are meant to be the final outcome and so.. they purposely make it time consuming and incredibly difficult and lengthy just to initiate this. But it’s been happening for the past few years now and seems to be nearing legitimate talk. I think it depends heavily on public interest and if it remains cuz there’s just as many devoted to keeping them locked up… including family members.

  3. I think whether they are freed or not should entirely depend on if they have been able to change their childhood conditioning. What I mean is, are they going to do the things to others that their parents did to them. I hope not. I have a lot of empathy for anyone who endured abuse growing up, and I also recognize that some people never escape it so they go on to become what their parents were. I know people can and do overcome that, but not everyone does. I don't know how psychiatrists would measure the probability that they are ok to be walking in society, but I hope they can do that accurately.

  4. They both should have won an Oscar for their performance on the witness stand. I don't believe a word out of either. One of their Mouths In my opinion they both should be on death row for what they did And all these people on here, believing them. You gotta be kidding me. The reason why they killed their mother is because she would have exposed their lies so she had to go down
