Meghann Fahy stars in a movie about “Hope” (Rebuilding) Sundance

At the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Rebuilding made a powerful impression, offering a poignant and timely reflection on resilience and the healing power of hope. Led by #MeghannFahy and #JoshOConnor, the film follows Dusty (O’Connor), a cowboy whose world is shattered when a wildfire destroys his ranch. Struggling to pick up the pieces, he finds himself at a FEMA camp, where he reunites with his ex-wife Ruby (Fahy) and their daughter. As they work together to rebuild their lives, the film explores the messy, painful, yet ultimately redemptive process of picking up the broken pieces of a life left in ruins.

In addition to the standout performances by Fahy and O’Connor, the film features an incredible ensemble cast, including the talented Kali Reis and Thomas Haden Church. Reis brings a quiet strength to her role, offering a grounded presence that anchors the film’s deeper emotional moments. Together, the cast weaves a narrative that speaks to universal themes of love, loss, and the delicate art of starting over. Rebuilding is more than just a film about recovery; it’s about finding hope in the aftermath of tragedy, about rediscovering what it means to rebuild not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. As the characters confront their pasts and find new paths forward, Rebuilding carries a beautiful, timeless message: no matter how broken we may feel, the human spirit always has the power to rebuild and grow stronger.
