A little off topic, but American Airlines has one of my favourite livery designs (ITA Airways is another one of my favourites). I’m not American, but I could imagine a real sense of pride in the livery with the grey fuselage and the American Flag on the tail. It just looks aesthetically pleasing.

Once again, we have to clarify due to omissions here. The A320neo series are NOT more efficient than the 737 Max.
While it's true that no US airline has ordered the 777-X, none ordered the A380 either. US airlines operate a more point to point operation in longhaul so they operate frequent flights instead of high capacity. Having said that, United and American will likely order the 777X in the future.

This American Airlines is not the real American, it is indeed US Airways, which indeed was America West. America
West bought US Airways and took its name. Then US Airways bought AA when AA was in financial trouble. So AA
is really America West.
It still bewilders me that AA is the only hub operator in Miami.

You refer to American, Delta, and United as the three largest USA airlines. My understanding is that Southwest is now larger than United, albeit with a very different business model. Don't count them out. As a passenger in need of handicapped accommodation, I would add that Southwest provides radically better service for handicapped passengers than any of A, D, or U.
